Abstract:

In order to investigate the effects of non-linear springs in vibrating behavior of vehicles, the independent suspension of conventional vehicles could be modeled as a non-linear single degree of freedom system. The equation of motion for the system would be a non-linear third order ordinary differential equation, when considering the elasticity of rubber bushings in joints of shock absorber. It is desirable that the system be stable, i.e., periodic inputs periodic outputs. In order to obtain the conditions that guarantee the existence of periodic solutions, and therefore, stable responses, the Schauder's fixed point theorem has been implemented to a general third order equation. Thus, the adapted conditions could be used for a wide range of dynamical systems. For the numerical analysis, a rapid convergence method has been developed, and used to solve the model. The correctness of periodic conditions and the numerical algorithm have been demonstrated.

Non-linear dielectric spectroscopy of microbiological suspensions

BACKGROUND Non-linear dielectric spectroscopy (NLDS) of microorganism was characterized by the generation of harmonics in the polarization current when a microorganism suspension was exposed to a sinusoidal electric field. The biological nonlinear response initially described was not well verified by other authors and the results were susceptible to ambiguous interpretation. In this paper NLDS ...

Driver Support System Based on a Non-linear Slip Observer for off Road Vehicles

Off road ground vehicles have many potential applications, including space, defence, agriculture, mining and construction. Increased autonomy of ground vehicles will not only improve the safety of the operators but also assist in trajectory tracking. Accurate estimation of slip is essential in developing autonomous navigation strategies for mobile off road vehicles operating in unstructured ter...

non-linear study of various slit shear walls in steel structures

seismic retrofit strategies have been developed in the past few decades following the introduction of new seismic provisions and the availability of advanced materials and methods. it can be observed that new approaches to deal with more lateral forces are more innovative and more energy absorbent. in line with this, there is a growing trend toward the use of steel shear walls as a system with ...
