The effect of created hemolymph apoptosis on WSSV Gama-vaccinated shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei in WSSV disease control

Authors

Abstract:

White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is the causative agent responsible for huge-shrimp viral epidemics in shrimp farms throughout the world. Our study was aimed to determine the effect of WSSV Gamma-vaccinated Litopenaeus vannamei on the occurrence of apoptosis. One thousand and twenty PL15 were randomly distributed among 2 treatments and two control groups. Gama-Vaccinated shrimp and non-Gamma-vaccinated ones were our treated and untreated groups. Based on our results significant differences (p < /em>

Gene set based association analyses for the WSSV resistance of Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) is regarded as a virus with the strongest pathogenicity to shrimp. For the threshold trait such as disease resistance, marker assisted selection (MAS) was considered to be a more effective approach. In the present study, association analyses of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located in a set of immune related genes were conducted to identify markers asso...

Immunization of Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp against white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) by gamma-irradiated WSSV plus Vibrio paraheomolyticus

Introduction: White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is one of the most deadly infectious pathogens of the shrimp culture industry. Neither effective vaccines nor efficient treatments are currently available for this disease. Vibrio species are well known dominant bacterial pathogens in the shrimp ponds. As facultative pathogenic bacteria, it is possible that Vibrio spp. along with WSSV to co-infect ...

Immunological findings in shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei exposed to attenuated WSSV vaccine produced by Gamma irradiation

In this research, White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) with 105.4LD50.mL-1 inactivated with gamma irradiation at a dose rate of 14-15 kGy.sec-1 was used as a vaccine. Three hundred and sixty shrimp of Litopenaeus vannamei, medium body weight (MBW) 1.0±0.17g), were prepared and experimentally exposed. They were distributed among four groups, inclusing vaccinated-virus exposed (T1), vaccinated-nonvir...

Per os infectivity of white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) in white-legged shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) and role of peritrophic membrane

As earlier observations on peroral infectivity of WSSV in white-legged shrimp are conflicting, here, a standardized peroral intubation technique was used to examine (i) the role of the physical composition of the viral inoculum and (ii) the barrier function of the PM. In a first experiment, the infectivity of a WSSV stock was compared by determining the SID50 by intramuscular injection, peroral...
