Numerical and Analytical Investigation in Radiated Noise by a Shock-Absorber
Authors
Abstract:
In this article, the radiated noise by a shock-absorber is studied. This particular shock-absorber is used in a heavy-gauge shearing line in order to stop the cut steel sheets. Three steps are followed to evaluate the propagated sound in the surroundings; first of all, the plate vibration response is specified after the impact. Secondly, the edges of the plate are substituted by a set of the monopoles to model the effects of the edges in the sound generation. Thirdly, Rayleigh integral equation is used to calculate the sound generated by the surfaces of the plate. The finite element method is also employed to simulate the problem.

Analytical and numerical assessments of the indirect noise generated through a nozzle are presented. The configuration corresponds to an experiment achieved at DLR by Bake et al. [F. Bake, C. full textNumerical Optimization of Radiated Engine Noise with Uncertain Wavenumbers
The purpose of this paper is to study the optimal design of the acoustic liner to minimize fan noise radiation from commercial aircraft engine nacelles. There have been numerous studies of this problem from an engineering perspective (e.g., [12, 26, 27] and references therein). In [8, 11], the search for the liner material minimizing engine noise radiation was treated as an optimal control prob...
full textAnalytical and numerical investigation of escape rate for a noise driven bath.
We consider a system-reservoir model where the reservoir is modulated by an external noise. Both the internal noise of the reservoir and the external noise are stationary, Gaussian, and are characterized by arbitrary decaying correlation functions. Based on a relation between the dissipation of the system and the response function of the reservoir driven by external noise, we numerically examin...
full textA numerical model for ground-borne vibrations and re- radiated noise in buildings from underground railways
An efficient and modular numerical prediction model is presented to predict vibrations and re-radiated noise in buildings due to metro trains. The approach comprises of three weakly coupled problems: the dynamic vehicle-track-tunnel-soil interaction problem, the dynamic soil-structure interaction problem and the calculation of the acoustic response inside the rooms. The three-dimensional dynami...
full textAnalytical and Numerical Investigation of FGM Pressure Vessel Reinforced by Laminated Composite Materials
In this research, the analytical and numerical investigation of a cylindrical shell made of functionally graded materials (FGMs) reinforced by laminated composite subjected to internal pressure is presented. Using the infinitesimal theory of elasticity, the analytical solution of stress and strain in vessels made of FGMs is studied first. It is assumed that the elasticity modulus follows a powe...
