Abstract:

CuInS2 nanostructures were  synthesized  via  a  simple  surfactant-free solvothermal  route.  In  this  synthesis,  thiosemicarbazide  and thioglycolic acid were used as sulfur sources. The effects of different parameters such as type of precursor and time on the morphology and particle  size  of  the  samples  have  been  investigated.  The nanostructures  were  characterized  by  means  of  X-ray  diffraction (XRD),  scanning  electron microscopy  (SEM),  energy-dispersive X- ray  analysis  (EDX),  Fourier  transform  infrared  (FT-IR)  and photoluminescence  (PL)  spectroscopy.  The  fill  factor  (FF),  open circuit voltage  (Voc), and  short circuit current  (Isc) were obtained by I–V characterization.

Facile Hydrothermal Synthesis of Tellurium Nanostructures for Solar Cells

Tellurium (Te) nanostructures have been successfully synthesized via a simple hydrothermal methodfrom the reaction of a TeCl4 aqueous solution with thioglycolic acid (TGA) as a reductant. TGA can be easily oxidized to the corresponding disulfide [SCH2CO2H]2, which in turn can reduce TeCl4 to Te. The obtained Te was characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS, and DRS. The effect of reducing agent on morphol...

Synthesis and Characterization of SnO2 Nanostructures Prepared by a Facile Precipitation Method

In this paper, tin dioxide nanoparticles were synthesized by a fast and simple co-precipitation method. For SnO2 preparation, we used ammonia as precipitation agent and bis (acetylacetone) ethylene diamineas as capping agent. By changing in SnCl4, acacen mole-ratio different morphologies were obtained. This semiconductor nanostructure has photo-catalyst activities and can ...

Synthesis of Antimony Nanotubes via Facile Template-Free Solvothermal Reactions

Uniform antimony (Sb) nanotubes were successfully synthesized via a facile solvothermal method without the need for any surfactants or templates. The Sb nanotubes are confirmed to be pure rhombohedral phase and have better crystallinity. These nanotubes show middle-hollow and open-ended structures, as well as multi-walled structures with the wall thickness of about 10 nm. Also, they have an ave...
