abstract

in recent years, using new methods in utilization of energy resources has become necessary due to environmental pollution and restriction of energy resources. the hybrid system presented in this article produced power with sofc and stirling engine. the purpose is to analyze a 50 kw solid oxide fuel cell that could produce enough thermal energy for a 10 kw stirling engine working in the hybrid system. the hybrid system analysis is performed by programming in matlab and modeling in hysys. thermodynamics and electrical parameters of the system are calculated in two ways. the results are close to each other and confirmed the validity of calculations.

Performance modeling and parametric investigation of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC)

In his paper, performance modeling and parametric study of a tubular solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) fed by hydrogen was conducted. The components of the fuel cell system and its reactions were entirely modelled and an electrochemical analysis done for it. A variety of modeling parameters including temperature, working pressure and the air mass- flow rate have been investigated in order to observe...

Effect of recycling solid oxide fuel cell products on the performance of a SOFC-Gas turbine hybrid system

In this study, the effect of recycling fuel cell products on the performance of a solid oxide fuel cell and gas turbine (SOFC-GT) hybrid system was investigated. Three types of products recycling are considered: cathode products recycling (CPR), anode products recycling (APR), and both cathode and anode products recycling (BACPR). In the present work,   operating temperature and  limiting curre...

a study on rate making and required reserves determination in reinsurance market: a simulation

reinsurance is widely recognized as an important instrument in the capital management of an insurance company as well as its risk management tool. this thesis is intended to determine premium rates for different types of reinsurance policies. also, given the fact that the reinsurance coverage of every company depends upon its reserves, so different types of reserves and the method of their calc...

Model Reduction of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) for Control Purposes

Fuel cells belong to an avant-garde technology family for a wide variety of applications including micro-power, transportation power, stationary power for buildings and other distributed generation applications. The first objective of this contribution is to find a suitable reduced model of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC). The derived reduced model is then used to design a state estimator. I...

Dynamic simulation and analysis of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC)

Dynamic simulation of an anode-supported tubular SOFC is performed to study the transients of current and the transport fields in the cell. The time constants of the system are studied and the possible explanations for their variation within the cell and at various overpotentials are presented. It was observed that the gain of the system varies depending upon the operating conditions of the sys...
