13C/(12)C and D/H stable isotope fractionation during aerobic degradation was determined for Pseudomonas putida strain mt-2, Pseudomonas putida strain F1, Ralstonia pickettii strain PKO1, and Pseudomonas putida strain NCIB 9816 grown with toluene, xylenes, and naphthalene. Different types of initial reactions used by the respective bacterial strains could be linked with certain extents of stabl...

Pseudomonas putida is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped, saprotrophic soil bacterium. Based on 16S rRNA analysis, P. putida was taxonomically confirmed to be a Pseudomonas species. Faster detection of the causative Microbes and institution of proper therapy would help greatly in preventing septic complications. Recent advances in the field of Molecular Biology, including the amplification of genetic ...

Fourteen quinolone-resistant Pseudomonas putida isolates were recovered from imported frozen shrimp sold in the United States. Two isolates harbored plasmids with qnrA and qnrB genes. PCR and DNA sequencing of quinolone resistance-determining regions identified novel substitutions in GyrA (His139→Glu and Thr128→Ala) and GyrB (Thr442→Asn, Gly470→Ala, and Ile487→Pro) and previously reported subst...

Pseudomonas putida strain CA-3 is an industrial bioreactor isolate capable of synthesizing biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoate polymers via the metabolism of styrene and other unrelated carbon sources. The pathways involved are subject to regulation by global cellular processes. The draft genome sequence is 6,177,154 bp long and contains 5,608 predicted coding sequences.

We report the genome sequence of a seed-borne bacterium, Pseudomonas putida strain S610. The size of the draft genome sequence is approximately 4.6 Mb, which is the smallest among all P. putida strains sequenced to date.

A number of enhanced chromosome mobilizing (ECM) plasmids derived from the wide host range plasmid R68 have been used to construct R-prime plasmids carrying a maximum of two map minutes of the Pseudomonas putida PPN chromosome, using Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO as the recipient. For one ECM plasmid, pMO61, the ability to form R-primes did not correlate with the ability to mobilize chromosomes in...

Four carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas spp. were isolated from patients in Singapore. One Pseudomonas putida isolate contained a bla(IMP-1) identical to that first described in Japan. The sequence of a variant bla(IMP-1) in Pseudomonas fluorescens contained four silent mutations compared with the original sequence. The remaining P. putida isolates contained bla(VIM-6), a novel VIM gene variant.
