The objective of this article is to describe allergic contact dermatitis from sodium isopropyl xanthate, potassium amyl xanthate, and carbamates in a geotechnician, to discuss possible cross-reactions, and to report the widespread use of carbamates and mercaptobenzothiazole in mining processes.

In this study, batch experiments were performed to study the behavior of potassium amyl xanthate surfactant on Fe, Cu and U ions for pretreatment Abu Zeneima sulphate leach liquor. Various parameters, such as amount xanthate, pH, stirring time, sample volume mass (v/m ratio) temperature tested determine optimum conditions. The numerical results obtained support experimental data decreasing iron...

An atomic force microscope (AFM) was applied to study of the adsorption xanthate on bornite surfaces in situ aqueous solutions. AFM images showed that xanthate, i.e., potassium ethyl (KEX) and amyl (PAX), adsorbed strongly bornite, adsorbate bound with mineral surface without being removed by flushing ethanol alcohol. The also increased collector concentration contact time. Xanthate a similar m...

Atomic force microscopy (AFM) has been applied to study the adsorption morphology of various collectors, i.e., potassium ethyl xanthate (KEX) and amyl (PAX) Cytec Aerofloat 238 (sodium dibutyl dithiophosphate), on chalcocite in situ aqueous solutions. The AFM images show that all these collectors adsorb strongly chalcocite. Xanthate adsorbs mainly form insoluble cuprous (CuX), which binds with ...

In this research, the selective flotation of galena and sphalerite minerals was evaluated from a pyrite-rich lead-zinc sample. An optimum mixture of selective collectors against pyrite and also organic/inorganic pyrite depressants was obtained in the flotation of galena and sphalerite by an experimental mixture design. The effect of different collectors and pH values were investigated in the ob...

Carrier flotation is a technique that can recover fine particles by using coarse carrier during the process. In heterogeneous flotation, mineral of different minerals are used as carriers to particles. By Cu2+-treated pyrite carriers, chalcopyrite recovery could be improved. However, disadvantage this it requires post-flotation separation process improve grade final Cu concentrate. This study t...

This study investigated the effect of oxygen and micro-cracking on the flotation of low grade nickel sulphide ore. The ore treated contained serpentine minerals which have a history of being difficult to process efficiently. The use of oxygen as a bubbling gas has been noted to be effective because it increases the pulp potential. The desired effect of micro cracking the ore is that the nickel ...

• Cu 2+ -treated pyrite improved fine chalcopyrite flotation recovery as a carrier. CuSO 4 treatment of its hydrophobic interactions with particles. The mineral particles in is limited owing to the low collision probability between and air bubbles. carrier method can enhance particle by attaching fines coarse In this study, an attempt was made improve using Flotation experiments for finely grou...

Polarographic studies of potassium isobutyl xanthate at a mercury electrode reveal that the product of an anodic reaction is strongly adsorbed at the mercury surface, as indicated by a prewave. The adsorbed film greatly affects the characteristics of the anodic wave of xanthate in an aqeous medium. The current of total wave is proportional to the concentration of xanthate from 0.32 to 1.6 mM.

The synthesis and characterization of gold(I) complexes of butyl xanthate [Au(2)((n)()Bu-xanthate)(2)], 1, and ethyl xanthate [Au(2)(Et-xanthate)(2)], 2, are described. These complexes are readily prepared from the reaction between Au(THT)Cl (THT = tetrahydrothiophene) and the corresponding xanthate ligands as the potassium salts. The two xanthate complexes are characterized by (1)H NMR, IR, ma...
