Submodularity is an important  property of set functions with deep theoretical results  and various  applications. Submodular systems appear in many applicable area, for example machine learning, economics, computer vision, social science, game theory and combinatorial optimization.  Nowadays submodular functions optimization has been attracted by many researchers.  Pendant pairs of a symmetric...

The teach pendant is a hand-held robot control terminal that provides a convenient means to move the robot, teach locations, and run robot programs. Nowadays, almost teaching pendant is connected with a robot controller using cable. The cable connection and the size of teaching pendant are not problems because a robot controller is separated with robot. However, a large size and wired teaching ...

The amidation reaction between C60 with an activated ester group (1) and acetylated Glc (AcGlc) with an amino group (2) was performed to yield the target AcGlc-pendant C60 compound (3). The water soluble deacetylated compound, Glc-pendant C60 compound (4), exhibited high photocytotoxicity against HeLa cells due to the more efficient singlet oxygen generation as compared with that of Glc-pendant...

We have synthesised a novel copper(ii) complex with a pyridine pendant as a proton relay port for electrocatalytic 4e(-) reduction of O2 in water. The enhancement of the electrocatalytic O2 reduction via protonation of the pyridine pendant is demonstrated in comparison with a copper(ii) complex without the pyridine pendant.

The concept of pendant tree-connectivity was introduced by Hager in 1985. For a graph G = (V,E) and a set S ⊆ V (G) of at least two vertices, an S-Steiner tree or a Steiner tree connecting S (or simply, an S-tree) is a subgraph T = (V ′, E ′) of G that is a tree with S ⊆ V ′. For an S-Steiner tree, if the degree of each vertex in S is equal to one, then this tree is called a pendant S-Steiner t...

Group 4 metal complexes containing phenoxy-amide ligands bearing soft pendant donors are shown to give more highly active ethylene polymerisation catalysts than counterparts containing hard donors or systems without a pendant donor.

Evaporation of micro-liter drops from solid surfaces at room condition is mainly governed by diffusion. Therefore, there should be no difference between evaporation rate of sessile and pendant drops. However, some studies indicate a difference and explain the difference using buoyancy. The objective here is to reconcile the inconsistency in the literature. For that, first, by comparing two iden...

A new class of material resistant to bacterial attachment has been discovered that is formed from polyacrylates with hydrocarbon pendant groups. In this study, the relationship between the nature of the hydrocarbon moiety and resistance to bacteria is explored, comparing cyclic, aromatic, and linear chemical groups. A correlation is shown between bacterial attachment and a parameter derived fro...

This study examines and compares three pieces of Renaissance style gold and enamelled jewelry owned by the Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore, MD, USA. These are a 16th century Hat Badge of Adam and Eve, a 19th century Fortitude Pendant and a Diana Pendant presumed to be of the 16th century (The Walters Art Gallery, Jewelry, Ancient to Modern (Viking, New York, 1979)), Ref. [1]. PIXE spectroscopy w...
