Parosteal osteosarcoma is a low-grade osteosarcoma, which occurs on the surface of the bone. We had experienced a parosteal osteosarcoma involving the flat bone, the scapula of a 21-year-old man. This is an extremely rare location for a parosteal osteosarcoma. Plain radiograph showed broad-based, well-defined radiodense lesion at the scapula. Computed tomogram demonstrated an intact cortex and ...

Parosteal osteosarcoma is a low-grade malignant bone tumor arising from the distal femur and tibia. Wide resection of a parosteal osteosarcoma usually prevents local recurrence. In literature, hemicortical resections of low-grade malignant bone tumors and allograft reconstruction are described. We describe a new method of resection and reconstruction of parosteal osteosarcoma located in the pop...

Misdiagnosis of a malignant bone tumor can entail fatal consequences. Etiology of giant synovial osteochondroma is widely unsolved but is believed to originate from synovial chondromatosis, a mostly benign metaplasia of the synovial membrane. Parosteal ost...

The patient developed lung metastasis and a mass in the interosseus membrane of the forearm proximally to the osteotomy. The lung mass was found to be a metastasis from parosteal osteosarcoma and the biopsy of the forearm mass revealed a myositis ossificans. The suspicion of a ...

Parosteal osteosarcomas are uncommon neoplasms that typically affect the long bones. Primary involvement of a rib is very rare. The imaging features of a parosteal osteosarcoma involving a rib are described, including the magnetic resonance imaging features, which have not been previously been reported in the literature.
