Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with a nickel (Ni)-doped indium tin oxide (ITO) anode were fabricated. The Ni-doped ITO anode was prepared using sputter deposition of Ni–ITO single targets consisting of 1, 3 and 5 wt% of nickel. Turn-on voltage of OLED devices with the Ni-doped ITO anode was reduced by 2.5, 4 and 3.8 V for 1, 3 and 5 wt% targets, respectively. Half-luminance lifetime was ...

Large-scale Ni-doped ZnO nanowire (NW) arrays are grown. The electrical conductivity of a single Ni-doped ZnO NW has been increased for 30 times. The photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of the doped ZnO NWs has a red shift, suggesting possible doping induced band edge bending. The doped NW arrays could be the basis for building integrated nanoscale transistors, sensors, and photodetectors.

Metal-carbon binary clusters generated by the laser vaporization of metal-doped carbon materials used for macroscopic production of endohedral metallofullerene or SWNTs were studied. Positive and negative clusters generated by the laser-vaporization supersonicexpansion cluster beam source were directly injected to the FT-ICR mass spectrometer. Depending on the metal species, the generated clust...

Ni doped ZnO (Zn1 xNixO) thin films were grown on quartz substrates via magnetron sputtering deposition process with the Ni concentrations of 5, 10 and 20 at.% in the films. The effects of Ni doping level and post annealing on the structural and magnetic properties of Zn1 xNixO films were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), alternating gradient magnetometer (AGM) and photoluminesc...

Doping of titania nanotubes is one of the efficient way to obtain improved physical and chemical properties. Through electrochemical anodization and annealing treatment, Ni-doped TiO2 nanotube arrays were fabricated and their hydrogen sensing performance was investigated. The nanotube sensor demonstrated a good sensitivity for wide-range detection of both dilute and high-concentration hydrogen ...

First principles( or ab initio) density-functional-theory (DFT) with projected augmented wave (PAW) method simulations were performed to calculate the electronic structures and optical properties of 25% nickel (Ni) doped cubic ZrO2 crystals. We implemented two ab initio DFT application methods to the ZrO2 ceramic elastic constant, structure stability, and optical property calculation. The Cerpl...

Abbott, Sanjeev Mukerjee, Valery Petrykin, Zdeněk Bastl, Niels Bendtsen Halck, Jan Rossmeisl and Petr Krtil* Nanocrystalline ruthenium dioxide and doped ruthenia of the composition Ru1 xMxO2 (M1⁄4 Co, Ni, Zn) with 0 # x # 0.2 were prepared by the spray-freezing freeze-drying technique. The oxygen reduction activity and selectivity of the prepared materials were evaluated in alkaline m...

Ni-based catalysts as replacement for noble metal catalysts are of particular interest in the catalytic conversion of biomass due to their cheap and satisfactory catalytic activity. The Ni/SiO2 catalyst has been studied for the hydrogenolysis of glycerol, and doping with phosphorus (P) found to improve the catalytic performance significantly because of the formation of Ni2P alloys. However, in ...

We fabricated YBa2Cu3-xMxO7- d (M=Ni, Fe) bulk samples, with stochiometric amount 0≤x≤0.045 by sol-gel method. The phase analysis and microstructure of specimens were examined by XRD and SEM. The electrical resistivity was measured using standard four probe technique for 77-300K. Investigation of XRD spectrum by MAUD shows Ni and Fe ions substitute in Cu(2) and Cu(1) site, respectively. Transi...
