poecilus beesoni (andrewes) collected at lake izeh (khuzestan) is recorded for the first time for iran. for identification the holotypes of poecilus beesoni and p. affinissimus were compared. based on this study poecilus affinissimus (ali 1967) is synonymized with poecilus beesoni (andrewes, 1927).
