The logistic, Gompertz, Richards and asymmetric logistic growth curve models were fitted to body weight data of local Ghanaian chickens and French SASSO T44 chickens. All four growth models provided good fit for each sex by genotype growth data with R2 values ranging from 86.7% to 96.7%. The rate constant parameter, k, ranged between 0.137 and 0.271 and were significantly different from zero fo...

This work contributes to the development of a new data-driven method (D-DM) feedforward neural networks (FNNs) learning. was proposed recently as way improving randomized learning FNNs by adjusting network parameters target function fluctuations. The employs logistic sigmoid activation functions for hidden nodes. In this study, we introduce other functions, such bipolar sigmoid, sine function, ...

A new logistic model for bacterial growth was developed in this study. The model, which is based on the logistic model, contains an additional term for expression of the very low rate of growth during a lag phase, in its differential equation. The model successfully described sigmoidal growth curves of Escherichia coli at various initial cell concentrations and constant temperatures. The model ...

In this paper, we revise two commonly used saturated functions, the logistic sigmoid and the hyperbolic tangent (tanh). We point out that, besides the well-known non-zero centered property, slope of the activation function near the origin is another possible reason making training deep networks with the logistic function difficult to train. We demonstrate that, with proper rescaling, the logist...

This paper presents a step-by-step procedure for the simulation of photovoltaic modules with numerical values, using MALTAB/Simulink software. The proposed model is developed based on mathematical PV module, which solar cell employing one-diode equivalent circuit. output current and power characteristics curves highly depend some climatic factors such as radiation temperature, are obtained by s...

Superposition of sigmoid function over a finite time interval is shown to be equivalent to the linear combination of the solutions of a linearly parameterized system of logistic differential equations. Due to the linearity with respect to the parameters of the system, it is possible to design an effective procedure for parameter adjustment. Stability properties of this procedure are analyzed.

In this study, we present a continuous-valued logical approach to generalize the sigmoid function. Our starting point is kappa function, which known as unary operator in logic. First extend function (a,b) interval, and then interpret generalized limit of extended when b tend negative positive infinity, respectively. Since induced by an additive generator strict t-norm or t-conorm, dependent. Ba...

This paper presents a methodology to deal with the randomness associated ecological modelling. Data variability makes it necessary analyse impact of random perturbations on fitted model parameters. We conduct such analysis for logistic growth certain sigmoid functional form carrying capacity, which was proposed in literature study parasite during infection. show how probability distributions pa...
