in this paper, we give a generalization of the integral dependence from rings to modules. we study the stability of the integral closure with respect to various module theoretic constructions. moreover, we introduce the notion of integral extension of a module and prove the lying over, going up and going down theorems for modules.

finite and boundary element methods have been used by many authors to solve mathematicalphysics problems. however, the coupling of these two methods happens to be more efficient as it combinestheir merits. in this paper, the mathematical analysis of the coupling of finite and boundary element methodsfor the helmholtz equation is presented.

This study shows how to create different types of crack and discontinuities by using isogeometric analysis approach (IGA) and extended finite element method (XFEM). In this contribution, two unique features of isogeometric analysis approach are utilized to create discontinuous zones. Discontinuities consist of crack and cohesive zone. In isogeometric analysis method NURBS is used to approximate...

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the real quadratic number fields $Q(sqrt{d})$ which contain the specific form of the continued fractions expansions of integral basis element  where $dequiv 2,3( mod  4)$ is a square free positive integer. Besides, the present paper deals with determining the fundamental unit$$epsilon _{d}=left(t_d+u_dsqrt{d}right) 2left.right > 1$$and  $n_d$ and $m_d...

The dual boundary element method is formulated for the analysis of linear elastic cracked plates. The dual boundary integral equations of the method are the displacement and the traction equations. When these equations are simultaneously applied along the crack boundaries, general crack problems can be solved in a single-region formulation, with both crack boundaries discretized with discontinu...

The elastic-plastic behavior of the material is considered to analyze the effect of an external circumferential crack on a pipe with thickness transition and double slopes. Using the extended finite element method (XFEM), the J-integral of 3D cracks were investigated and compared between straight pipes and pipes with thickness transition and different slopes. Considering internal press...

in this paper, the boundary-based estimation of pressure distribution in the cardiovascular system is investigated using two dimensional flow images. the conventional methods of non-invasive estimation of pressure distribution in the cardiovascular flow domain use the differential form of governing equations. this study evaluates the advantages of using the integral form of the equations in the...

the aim of this work is to investigate the variational discretization and mixed finite element methods for optimal control problem governed by semi linear parabolic equations with integral constraint. the state and co-state are approximated by the lowest order raviart-thomas mixed finite element spaces and the control is not discreted. optimal error estimates in l2 are established for the state...

This paper deals with a general framework for a posteriori error estimates in boundary element methods which is specified for three examples, namely Symm's integral equation, an integral equation with a hypersingular operator, and a boundary integral equation for a transmission problem. Based on these estimates, an analog of Eriksson and Johnson's adaptive finite element method is proposed for ...

Displacement finite element models of various beam theories have been developed using traditional finite element interpolations (i.e., Hermite cubic or equi-spaced Lagrange functions). Various finite element models of beams differ from each other in the choice of the interpolation functions used for the transverse deflection w, total rotation φ and/or shear strain γxz, or in the integral form u...
