Hydroxypropyl starch was synthesized by modified sago starch with hydroxypropylation reaction. Hydroxypropyl starch nanoparticles with mean particle sizes of 110 nm are obtained by controlled precipitation through the drop-wise addition of dissolved hydroxypropyl starch solution into excess absolute ethanol. Piperine was loaded onto hydroxypropyl starch nanoparticles and native starch nanoparti...

The present study was undertaken to examine the effect of pH and concentration of hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin on the solubility of carvedilol as it shows pH-dependent solubility. The equilibrium solubility of carvedilol in a series of solutions of varying pH (from 1.2 to 11) was determined and compared with the equilibrium solubility of carvedilol in the presence of 20% hydroxypropyl-beta-c...

Fast dissolving drug delivery is the new approach to administer drugs; mouth dissolving film is one of them. The object of the present research work was to formulate a mouth dissolving film of Zolpidem tartrate from polymers Hydroxypropyl cellulose (EF-P) with a combination of Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose K-15 by solvent casting method for enhancing the drug release rate and absorption to inc...

CONTEXT Endoscopic mucosal resection is an established modality for excision of sessile lesions in the gastrointestinal tract. Submucosal fluid injection creates a cushion and may prevent thermal injury and perforation. OBJECTIVES This blind study investigated the performance of three different solutions to create submucosal fluid cushions in porcine stomach. METHODS Three solutions were in...

N-Nitroso(2-hydroxypropyl)(2-oxopropyl)amine (HPOP) proved to be a potent carcinogen in Syrian golden hamsters. The compound is an in vivo metabolite of N-nitrosobis(2-hydroxypropyl)amine, N-nitrosobis(2-oxopropyl)amine (BOP), and N-nitroso-2,6-dimethylmorpholine and a postulated proximate pancreatic carcinogen in hamsters. As with BOP, HPOP induced a higher incidence of pancreatic ductular ade...

0 Post-treatment data were collected on a patient who received intravenous hydroxypropyl P-cyclodextrin in a dose of 1.5 g/kg in 1985. Although no untoward effects were observed in this patient, rarely occurring agitation and pulmonary edema have been noted after injections into rabbits and dogs, respectively. These complications are analyzed here on the basis of symptoms and on the effects of ...

A novel series of substituted N,N'-diaryl ureas that act as p38α inhibitors have been designed and synthesized based on two key residues (Gly110 and Thr106) that are different in p38α MAPK than in other kinases. Preliminary biological evaluation indicated that most compounds possessed good p38α inhibitory potencies. Among these compounds, 9g appeared to be the most powerful and is the main comp...

The microbial transformation of coumarin (1) and 6-methyl coumarin (2) using Colletotrichum capsici gave 2-(3'-hydroxypropyl) phenol (3) and 2-(3'-hydroxypropyl)-4-methyl phenol (4). The phytopathogenic fungi effectively reduced the 2H-pyran-2-one moiety of both parent coumarins to respective alcohols.
