Tripe palms, which described the thickening of pamar skin with increase of normal dermatoglyphics and a peculiar velvety texture, is a specific cutaneous paraneoplastic syndrome especially related to cancers of upper aerodigestive tract. Acanthosis nigricans, and florid cutaneous papillomatosis (sudden appearance of many warty skin lesions) are the most commonly associated paraneoplastic dermat...
Malignant acanthosis nigricans is a rare paraneoplastic skin syndrome mostly associated with gastric adenocarcinoma. Florid cutaneous papillomatosis and tripe palms syndrome are considered to be abortive clinical variants of acanthosis nigricans. Clinical manifestations include pruritic, hyperkeratotic and hyperpigmented plaques with a subsequent formation of velvety papillomas in the involved ...
florid cutaneous papillomatosis (fcp), is a rare cutaneous marker of internal malignancy. the underlying cancer is usually intra-abdominal (most often gastric in origin), and evolves parallel to the fcp. there is a common association between fcp and the other two eruptive paraneoplastic syndromes, i.e.malignant acanthosis nigricans and the sign of leser-trelat. it seems possible that these synd...
Adenoma or florid papillomatosis of the nipple (FPN) is a rare benign disease which has histopathological features similar to those of a mammary papillary carcinoma. Here, we report a rare case of bilateral florid papillomatosis of the nipple and breast cancer, with a literature review.
Sir, Confluent and reticulated papillomatosis (CRP) is a rare dermatosis of unknown origin characterized by hyperpigmented, confluent papules. The sites of predilection are the neck, inter-mammary area and abdomen (1). Rarely, CRP develops at the other sites, such as the knee, elbow, hand, and antecubital and popliteal fossae (2, 3). We describe two rare cases of CRP that developed at the elbow...
This paper reports the case of a 57-year-old, previously healthy male with no systemic symptoms who over a short period of time developed multiple wart-like lesions on his trunk, limbs and face, typical lesions of acanthosis nigricans in the major body folds and tripe palms. Diagnostic tests revealed a metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma. Despite the implementation of therapy, which had a transie...
This is the report of a 76-year-old male with typical lesions of acanthosis nigricans maligna (ANM), florid cutaneous papillomatosis (FCP), and tripe palms (TP) for 2 years. He did not have any gastrointestinal complaints. Pathologic findings of skin supported the diagnosis of ANM. Because gastric adenocarcinoma is the most common neoplasm associated with these paraneoplastic dermatoses, furthe...
The clinical significance of Dietzia papillomatosis is for the moment limited to the rare skin disease confluent and reticulated papillomatosis. We present a case of infection with D. papillomatosis in a 2-year-old boy with known syringomyelia. The microbiological diagnosis was done using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. This is the first report of bacteremia with D. papillomatosis.
