Efficient and predictable demultiplexing is necessary to provide real-time support for distributed object computing applications developed with CORBA. This paper presents two contributions to the study of demultiplexing for real-time CORBA endsystems. First, we present an empirical study of three demultiplexing strategies used by a real-time Object Adapter based on SunSoft IIOP. These strategie...

The laser wavelength dependence on the temperature, polarization current, aging, can represent a problem in optical networks where multiple multiplexing and demultiplexing operations occur. These demultiplexing operations are commonly performed using fiber Bragg gratings, due to their versatility and unique filtering capabilities. In this contribution we evaluate the dependence of WDM networks ...

Support the demultiplexing and dispatching of multiple event handlers, which are triggered concurrently by multiple events. The Reactor pattern simplifies event-driven applications by integrating the demultiplexing of events and the dispatching of event handlers.

We present UDP datagram demultiplexing techniques that can yield potentially substantial applicationindependent performance gains over BSD-derived UDP implementations. Our demultiplexing strategies exploit local host and UDP implementation features -(1) how UDP processes connection-less datagrams, (2) local host application as client or server, and (3) local host application “density” -resultin...

All optical signal processing is a fundamental concept on which the next generation networks will be based. Implementation of key functionalities as multiwavelength regeneration, frequency conversion and high data rate demultiplexing performed all optically becomes a primary target in current research scenario. In this work, demultiplexing of high data rate signals is demonstrated. The base for...

In this paper we report the simulation results of simultaneous all optical clock extraction and demultiplexing from 4x10 GHz asynchronous optical time division multiplexed (OTDM) packet signals using a single symmetric Mach-Zehnder (SMZ) switch. In highspeed OTDM systems clock recovery, the address recognition and the payload routing are all should be carried out in the optical domain in order ...

We demonstrate the use of fiber Bragg grating based pulse-shaping technology to provide timing jitter tolerant data demultiplexing in an 80 Gb/s all-optical time division multiplexing (OTDM) system. Error-free demultiplexing operation is achieved with 6 ps timing jitter tolerance using superstructured fiber Bragg grating based 1.7 ps soliton to 10 ps rectangular pulse conversion at the switchin...

We report on quadrature demultiplexing of a quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) signal into two cross-polarized binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) signals with negligible penalty at bit-error rate (BER) equal to 10(-9). The all-optical quadrature demultiplexing is achieved using a degenerate vector parametric amplifier operating in phase-insensitive mode. We also propose and demonstrate the use ...

A structure based on photonic crystals for optical wavelength demultiplexing is proposed and analyzed. This structure consists of two coupled-cavity waveguides, each one tuned at a different frequency transmission band. A model based on the tightbinding method taken from solid-state physics is used to design the working frequencies of the waveguides. The demultiplexing behavior is demonstrated ...

Crosstalk and noise characteristics of non-linear all optical loop mirror (NOLM) demultiplexer and terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer (TOAD) are investigated in this paper. The best demultiplexing conditions are studied in order to minimise the crosstalk and noise, and to achieve reduced power penalty for both all-optical demultiplexing schemes.
