The spectroscopic properties of a poly(methyl methacrylate) matrix doped with a coumarin dye, a cyanine dye, and a photochromic spiropyran dye have been investigated. Before UV irradiation of the matrix, excitation of the coumarin dye results in minimal energy transfer to the cyanine dye. The energy transfer is substantially enhanced following UV irradiation of the matrix, which converts the co...

The passive mode locking of a cw Coumarin 6 dye laser in a colliding-pulse ring configuration is reported. Pulses of less than 500-fsec duration have been obtained from 518 to 554 nm, with the shortest pulses obtained being of 96-fsec duration.

A method of solvent-enhanced dye diffusion in polymer films for organic light-emitting diode ~OLED! application is introduced. After an initial dye transfer from a dye source substrate into the top of the device polymer film, the device substrate is then exposed to solvent vapor. Due to solvent absorption by the polymer film, the glass transition temperature of the polymer is significantly decr...

A method of solvent-enhanced dye diffusion in polymer films for organic light-emitting diode (OLED) application is introduced. After an initial dye transfer from a dye source substrate into the top of the electractive polymer film, the device substrate is then exposed to solvent vapor. Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells In article number 2100093 by Anish Babu Athanas and Swarnalatha KalaiyarHerein, a new coumarin-based ruthenium(II) dye with tunable photophysical redox properties is designed synthesized. The dyesensitized TiO2 photoelectrodes are tested as photocurrent generators for both water-splitting reactions dye-sensitized solar cells. photoelectrochemical devices furnish effic...

The use of coumarin dyes adsorbed on titanium dioxide (TiO2, P25) successfully extended the photocatalytic UV response of TiO2 toward visible light region. The hydrogenation of acetophenone (AP) using TiO2 modified with coumarin dyes proceeded with good chemical efficiencies under visible light irradiation. The role of sacrificial reagents on this dye-sensitized system is also reported.

Coumarin-based dyes have been successfully used in dye-sensitized solar cells, leading to photovoltaic conversion efficiencies of up to about 8%. Given the need to better understand the behavior of the dye adsorbed on the TiO₂ nanoparticle, we report results of density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) studies of several coumarin-based dyes, as well as complex systems cons...

Dye-protein fluoromodules consist of fluorogenic dyes and single chain antibody fragments that form brightly fluorescent noncovalent complexes. This report describes two new bichromophoric dyes that extend the range of wavelengths of excitation or emission of existing fluoromodules. In one case, a fluorogenic thiazole orange (TO) was attached to an energy acceptor dye, Cy5. Upon binding to a pr...
