در مطالعه حاضر بررسی کاریولوژیکی هفت جمعیت مختلف گونه Buxus hyrcana Pojark. که از مناطق مختلف کشور جمع‌آوری شده بودند ارائه شده است. نتایج نشان داد که پایه کروموزومی این گونه 14 x = می‌باشد. تمام جمعیت‌های مورد مطالعه دیپلوئید با 28= x2=n2 می‌باشند. نتایج تجزیه و تحلیل کاریوتیپی امکان دسته‌بندی جمعیت‌های مختلف گونه را از مناطق مختلف رویشگاهی و همچنین مقایسه منطقی بین آنها را فراهم نمود.
