Predictions of unknown heavy baryon masses based on an expansion in 1/mQ, 1/Nc and SU(3) breaking are updated to take into account a recent measurement of the Σc mass. Values are given for the two remaining unknown charm baryon masses Ξc and Ω ∗ c and the seven unknown bottom baryon masses Ξb, Σb, Ξ ′ b, Ωb, Σ ∗ b , Ξ ∗ b and Ω ∗ b . The spectrum of baryons containing a single charm or bottom q...

The reaction gamma p-->pi(+)K(-)K(+)n was studied at Jefferson Laboratory using a tagged photon beam with an energy range of 3-5.47 GeV. A narrow baryon state with strangeness S=+1 and mass M=1555+/-10 MeV/c(2) was observed in the nK(+) invariant mass spectrum. The peak's width is consistent with the CLAS resolution (FWHM=26 MeV/c(2)), and its statistical significance is (7.8+/-1.0)sigma. A bar...

We study the supersymmetric leptogenesis via LHu flat direction with a gauged U(1)B−L symmetry. We find that the resultant baryon asymmetry is enhanced compared with the case without a gauged U(1)B−L symmetry. The baryon asymmetry is proportional to the reheating temperature of inflation, but it is independent of the gravitino mass. If high reheating temperatures of inflation TR ∼ 10 GeV are av...

By assuming the existence of (quasi)-linear baryon Regge trajectories, we derive new quadratic Gell-Mann–Okubo type baryon mass relations. These relations are used to predict the masses of the charmed baryons absent from the Baryon Summary Table so far, in good agreement with the predictions of many other approaches.
