conclusions results indicates that antigenic region of recombinant caga protein were recognized as an antigen , so it might be a candidate for the development of h. pylori vaccine, elisa kit designs and serological diagnosis of h. pylori infections. background helicobacter pylori is a human pathogen that causes chronic gastritis, which playsrole in gastric and duodenal ulcers, is also involved ...
Objective(s): Helicobacter pylori, a human specific gastric pathogen is a causative agent of chronic active gastritis. The vacuolating cytotoxin (VacA) is an effective virulence factor involved in gastric injury. The aim of this study was to construct a recombinant protein containing antigenic region of VacA gene and determine its antigenicity. Materials and Methods: The antigenic region of V...

BACKGROUND β-Conglycinin (conglycinin) is one of the major seed storage proteins of soybean. Conglycinin is a 7S trimer composed of different combinations of β, α and α' subunits. All subunits of conglycinin have been reported to be allergenic in humans. The goal of this research is to identify epitopes of the β subunit of conglycinin that are antigenic in multiple animal species. RESULTS Ser...
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Epitope-based vaccines (EVs) are specific, safe and easy to produce. However, vaccine failure has been frequently reported due to variation within epitopic regions. Therefore, development of vaccines based on conserved epitopes may prevent such vaccine failure. This study was undertaken to identify highly conserved antigenic regions in the four dengue serotypes to produc...
Introduction: Influenza A virus causes unpredictable epidemics and pandemics by creating antigenic variations. With the appearance of each new strain, rapid emergency countermeasures are taken against this new strain. Hence, designing an applicable and cross protective strategy to counter this virus is of great importance. To achieve this, choosing conserved antigenic regions in influenza virus...
Variations in foot and mouth disease virus are due to amino acid substitutions in the VP1, which is a major immunogen. Analysis of this hypervariable region is essential to know the antigenic structure of the serotype and is necessary to select a suitable vaccine strain. FMDV type A22 is one of the four prevailing virus types for which the vaccine is used regularly. To understand the antigenic ...
We have identified an array of more than 500 repetitive sequences flanking the hsr gene, which encodes the major surface protein of the ferret pathogen Helicobacter mustelae. The repeats show identity exclusively to the amino-terminal half of Hsr. Analysis of Hsr from three strains indicated variability of exposed epitopes. Characterization of an hsr mutant showed that Hsr is not an adhesin.
