the anamorphic fungus genus periconia is worldwide in distribution and causes foliar disease on plants mostly in tropical and subtropical regions. this study presents the description and illustration of p. palmivora discovered on leaves of phoenix dactylifera (palmae/arecaceae) from terai forest region of uttar pradesh, india. the taxonomic determination was based on morphological characteristi...
fungi belonging to the mycosphaerella s. l. are widely distributed all over the world. most taxa cause leaf spot diseases, and have considerable impact on cultivation of many economically important crops. on eucalyptus species, for example, mycosphaerella leaf spots are one of the major diseases responsible for severe damage in most parts of the word especially outside of their native cultivati...

Three species of yeasts are taxonomically described for strains isolated from marine environments. Candida spencermartinsiae sp. nov. (type strain CBS 10894T =NRRL Y-48663T) and Candida taylorii sp. nov. (type strain CBS 8508T =NRRL Y-27213T) are anamorphic ascomycetous yeasts in a phylogenetic cluster of marine yeasts in the Debaryomyces/Lodderomyces clade of the Saccharomycetales. The two spe...
Dermatophytoses are superficial infections of keratinized tissues like hair, skin and nail, caused by a specialized group of fungi closely related antigenically, physiologically and morphologically, known as dermatophytes or ringworm fungi (Rabell and Taplin, 1974). The etiologic agents of the dermatophytoses are classified in three anamorphic (asexual or imperfect) genera, Epidermophyton, Micr...
Out of 163 samples of suspected volunteer plants to fungal infection collected from different areas of Hamedan province (W Iran), 49 isolates of the anamorphic fungi were identified according to morphological and molecular features. Based on these, 13 species were identified and classified in six genera.
