the aerobic oxidation of alcohols was efficiently completed in high conversion and selectivity using cu3/2[pmo12o40]/sio2 as catalyst under mild reaction condition. this reaction provides a new environmentally friendly rout to the conversion of alcoholic function to carbonyl groups.

Cooperative catalysis between Cu(II) and redox-active organic cocatalysts is a key feature of important chemical and enzymatic aerobic oxidation reactions, such as alcohol oxidation mediated by Cu/TEMPO and galactose oxidase. Nearly 20 years ago, Markó and co-workers reported that azodicarboxylates, such as di-tert-butyl azodicarboxylate (DBAD), are effective redox-active cocatalysts in Cu-cata...

A novel one-pot aerobic oxidation/Knoevenagel condensation reaction system was developed employing a Cu(ii)/amine bifunctional, basic metal-organic framework (MOF) as the catalyst. The sequential aerobic alcohol oxidation/Knoevenagel condensation reaction was efficiently promoted by the Cu3TATAT MOF catalyst in the absence of basic additives. The benzylidenemalononitrile product was produced in...

The catalytic activity of Pt/CNT for benzyl alcohol aerobic oxidation was remarkably improved by decorating iron oxide on Pt nanoparticles, and electrochemical measurements evidenced the enhanced activation of oxygen and benzyl alcohol at the FeO(x)/Pt interface.

The catalyst palladium/2,9-CD3-phenanthroline has a 1.8 times higher turnover number than its non-deuterated counterpart in the aerobic alcohol oxidation of methyl glucoside and allows the regioselective oxidation with dioxygen as the terminal oxidant.

Pd(OAc)(2):pyridine (1:4) is an efficient catalyst system for the oxidation of alcohols with molecular oxygen. A mechanistic study of this reaction reveals that pyridine promotes the aerobic oxidation of palladium(0) but inhibits the oxidation of alcohol by palladium(II). Kinetic results reveal that turnover-limiting substrate oxidation consists of (i) formation of a palladium(II)-alkoxide, (ii...

The selective aerobic oxidation of cinnamyl alcohol over Pt nanoparticles has been tuned via the use of mesoporous silica supports to control their dispersion and oxidation state. High area two-dimensional SBA-15, and three-dimensional, interconnected KIT-6 silica significantly enhance Pt dispersion, and thus surface PtO2 concentration, over that achievable via commercial low surface area silic...

Hot holes in Pt-Cu alloy clusters can act as catalyst to accelerate the intrinsic aerobic oxidation reactions. It is described that under visible light irradiation the synergistic alcohol catalytic oxidation on Pt-Cu alloy clusters (≈1.1 nm)/TiO2 nanobelts could be significant promoted by interband-excitation-generated long-lifetime hot holes in the clusters.
