Erythrocyte bisphosphoglycerate mutase (BPGM) deficiency is a rare disease associated with a decrease in 2,3-diphosphoglycerate concentration. A complete BPGM deficiency was described in 1978 by Rosa et al (J Clin Invest 62:907, 1978) and was shown to be associated with 30% to 50% of an inactive enzyme detectable by specific antibodies and resulting from an 89 Arg-->Cys substitution. The propos...
Reaction of (N(3)N)ZrPHPh (N(3)N=N(CH(2)CH(2)NSiMe(3))(3)(3-)) with PhCH(2)N[triple bond]C affords the 1,1-insertion product (N(3)N)Zr[C(PHPh)=NCH(2)Ph], which thermally rearranges to the phosphaalkene-containing complex, (N(3)N)Zr[N(CH(2)Ph)C(H)=PPh].
background and objectives: jak2 is a nonreceptor tyrosine kinase that plays a major role in myeloid disorders. jak2v617f mutation is characterized by a g to t transverse at nucleotide 1849 in exon 12 of the jak2 gene, located on the chromosome 9p, leading to a substitution of valine to phenylalanine at amino acid position 617 in the jak2 protein. in this study we compared two molecular methods ...
Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) and dominant optic atrophy (DOA), the most common forms of hereditary optic neuropathy, are easily confused, and it is difficult to distinguish one from the other in the clinic, especially in young children. The present study was designed to survey the mutation spectrum of common pathogenic genes (OPA1, OPA3 and mtDNA genes) and to analyze the genotype-p...
Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD) is a cytosolic enzyme which its main function is to produce NADPH in the red blood cells by controlling the step from Glucose-6-Phosphate to 6-Phospho gluconate in the pentose phosphate pathway. G6PD deficiency is the most common X-chromosome linked hereditary enzymopathy in the world, that result in reduced enzyme activity and more than 125 different mu...
A TaqMan-minor groove binding assay designed around a nonsense mutation in the plcR gene was used to genotype Bacillus anthracis, B. cereus, and B. thuringiensis isolates. The assay differentiated B. anthracis from these genetic near-neighbors and determined that the nonsense mutation is ubiquitous across 89 globally and genetically diverse B. anthracis strains.
Abstract Objective JAK2 is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a major role in myeloid disorders. JAK2V617F mutation is characterized by a G to T transverse at nucleotide 1849 in exon 12 of the JAK2 gene, located on the chromosome 9p, leading to a substitution of valine to phenylalanine at amino acid position 617 in the JAK2 protein. Methods In this study we evaluated RNA from 89 pati...
