This work aims to study the recovery of copper from ammoniacal aqueous solutions using hydrophobic propylene membrane contactors. The hydroxyoxime LIX 84-I and the β-diketone LIX 54 (both from Cognis) were used as extractants. The results obtained showed that practically all the copper content was removed from the ammoniacal feed solutions. The recovery of copper reached nearly 100% in several ...

Machining pieces with cylindrical symmetry are realized through classic processes for example turning, mortising, etc or recently through no conventional methods, for example vibrorolling and vibrofinishing. Solution adopted by the authors to realize vibrorolling equipment are composed of one electromagnetic vibrator with two coils out of time operating, static contactors with transistors for d...

The purpose of the work is to improve mathematical models and algorithms computer modeling multiphysics processes in electromagnets actuators vacuum switching devices by taking into account contact interaction structural elements when changing their stress-strain state. In design modern circuit breakers contactors, there a significant use electromagnetic based on high-coercive hard magnetic rar...

Rotating biological contactor is being widely used for wastewater treatment but there is an apparent lack of knowledge about the rate at which oxygen transfer occurs, in physical and biological system. In this study the transfer of oxygen from air to water by a rotating disc air-liquid contactor in physical system is investigated. The oxygen transfer model suggested by Kim and Molof, Water Sci....

A Steady state kinetic model for ammonia oxidation (nitrification ) in a rotating biological disk (RBD) reactor was developed. The model can be described as a process of molecular diffusion with a simultaneous zero-order nitrification reaction within the biofilm . The model states that the nitrification rate per unit disk area is expressed as the product of an overall rate constant and an equil...

Luminous, sharply defined and nearly spherical objects (‘fireballs’), typically several centimetres in diameter, have been observed in Ar, Kr and Xe plasmas. The ‘fireballs’ are anchored on a disk anode biased et 4040 V above ground potential. They have been analysed in terms of a spherical double-layer model, in which ionizalion of the gas atoms by electrons energized at the double layer plays...
