A novel nanocomposite consisting of MoS 2 and AuNPs was prepared by a simple self-reduction method without reductant at room temperature. The as-prepared @AuNP nanocomposites were further used to construct an electrochemical glucose biosensor.

Easy dehalogenation of bromo-, chloro-aryl and alkyl derivatives is performed in the presence a cobalt catalyst, manganese as reductant, alcohol hydrogen donor.
