A dual catalyst containing Pd and CuFe(2)O(4) nanoparticles in a silica shell exhibits >98% conversion of arylacetylenes to related styrenes with selectivity greater than 98%, which are better than those obtained using a commercial Lindlar catalyst. The excellent synergy was likely a result of the proximal interaction between Pd and CuFe(2)O(4) nanoparticles.
Bimetallic PdPt dendrimer-encapsulated nanoparticles (DENs) having sizes of about 2 nm were synthesized by a homogeneous route that involved (1) formation of a Pd core, (2) deposition of a Cu shell onto the Pd core in the presence of H2 gas, and (3) galvanic exchange of Pt for the Cu shell. Under these conditions, a Pd@Pt core@shell DEN is anticipated, but detailed characterization by in-situ e...
The synthesis of palladium, platinum and ruthenium nanoparticles stabilized by azamacrocycles bearing polyoxyethylenated chains has been achieved by decomposition of the corresponding organometallic precursors (Pd(dba)(2), Pt(2)(dba)(3) and Ru(COD)(COT)) under dihydrogen atmosphere, whereas gold and rhodium nanoparticles have been obtained in the presence of these ligands by reduction of HAuCl(...
Palladium nanoparticles were deposited and reduced by gelatin as a safe edible, naturally occurring and cheap support. No extra reducing agents were used for the generation of Pd(0) nanoparticles from the Pd(II) salt. The nanoparticles of Pd supported on gelatin were characterized by SEM, TEM and AFM images, UV-Vis and XRD spectra and the amount of palladium entrapped in the gelatin was measure...
we report a pd-co (3:1)/graphene oxide (pd3co /go) catalyst through a one-step strategy. go is synthesized from graphite electrodes using ionic liquid-assisted electrochemical exfoliation. controllable go-supported pd3co electrocatalystis then was reduced by ethylene glycol as a stabilizing agent to prepare highly dispersed pdco nanoparticles on carbon graphene oxide to be used as oxygen reduct...
Nanoscale alloying and phase transformations in physical mixtures of Pd and Cu ultrafine nanoparticles are investigated in real time with in situ synchrotron-based x-ray diffraction complemented by ex situ high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The combination of metal-support interaction and reactive/non-reactive environment was found to determine the thermal evolution and ultimate ...
1. Introduction Bimetallic Pd-Ni nanoparticles are currently attracting a great deal of interest due to their physical and chemical properties, which are determined by their size, shape, structure and composition. In particular, it is well-known that Pd is a metal with important existing and potential applications as a catalyst in heterogeneous catalysis. The use of Pd as a single active metal ...
Palladium nanoparticles have been immobilized into an amino-functionalized metal-organic framework (MOF), MIL-101Cr-NH2, to form Pd@MIL-101Cr-NH2. Four materials with different loadings of palladium have been prepared (denoted as 4-, 8-, 12-, and 16 wt%Pd@MIL-101Cr-NH2). The effects of catalyst loading and the size and distribution of the Pd nanoparticles on the catalytic performance have been ...
The sonochemical synthesis of stable palladium nanoparticles has been achieved by ultrasonic irradiation of palladium(II) nitrate solution. The starting solutions were prepared by the addition of different concentrations of palladium(II) nitrate in ethylene glycol and poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP). The resulting mixtures were irradiated with ultrasonic 50 kHz waves in a glass vessel for 180 min....
Pd nanoparticles were well dispersed on a new triptycene-based microporous polymer support by the gas bubbling-assisted membrane reduction (GBMR) method. The stability of Pd nanoparticles is improved by the porous support, and the materials show excellent performance for CO oxidation.
