Bing-Whitehead Cantor sets were introduced by DeGryse and Osborne in dimension three and greater to produce examples of Cantor sets that were non standard (wild), but still had simply connected complement. In contrast to an earlier example of Kirkor, the construction techniques could be generalized to dimensions bigger than three. These Cantor sets in S are constructed by using Bing or Whitehea...

We introduce an infinite family of links called Whitehead chains that generalizes both the Whitehead link and the Borromean rings. For this family we prove the complexified volume conjecture taking into account subleading terms in the asymptotic expansion. The proof is based on techniques introduced in [10].

Assume G.C.H. and κ is the first uncountable cardinal such that there is a non-free κ-free abelian Whitehead group of cardinality κ. We prove that if all κ-free Abelian group of cardinality κ are Whitehead then κ is necessarily an inaccessible cardinal.

It is well known that the homotopy category of connected CW-complexes X whose homotopy groups n;(X) are trivial for i> 1 is equivalent to the category of groups. One of the objects of this paper is to prove a similar equivalence for the connected CW-complexes X whose homotopy groups are trivial for i > n + 1 (where n is a fixed non-negative integer). For n = 1 the notion of crossed module inven...

The reduced anisotropic unitary Whitehead groups of henselian division algebras with involutions are computed in the cases where centers residue special types.

We study fibred spaces with fibres in a structure category F and we show that cellular approximation, Blakers–Massey theorem, Whitehead theorems, obstruction theory, Hurewicz homomorphism, Wall finiteness obstruction, and Whitehead torsion theorem hold for fibred spaces. For this we introduce the cohomology of fibred spaces. AMS SC : 55R55 (Fiberings with singularities); 54H15 (Transformation g...
