In this paper, by using a new concept of strong convexity, we obtain sufficient conditions for Holder continuity of the solution mapping for a parametric weak vector equilibrium problem in the case where the solution mapping is a general set-valued one. Without strong monotonicity assumptions, the Holder continuity for solution maps to parametric weak vector optimization problems is discussed.

Collaborative learning provides students the opportunity to externalise personal perspectives and compare their understanding of a subject matter area with their peers. Concept mapping is a tool that permits students to build visual representations of the relationships among concepts to form a meaningful artefact that models a domain of knowledge or gives an answer to a posed question. Emerging...

This article develops the concept-mapping method as a tool for enhancing teaching quality in higher education. In particular, it describes how concept mapping can be used to transform abstract knowledge and understanding into concrete visual representations that are amenable to comparison and measurement. The article describes four important uses of the method: the identification of prior knowl...

One of the most important goals in treating chronic diseases, especially asthma, is the promotion of quality of life (QOL). The present study aimed at identifying the effect of educating method on the QOL of children, who suffered from asthma. In this clinical trial study, 80 children aged 6-12 years with asthma were divided into two groups: control (face-to-face method) and experimental (visual...

In this paper I introduce the concept of "visual prototype" to capture one particular kind of work done by visual representation in the practice of science. I use an example from neuroscience; more particularly, the example of the visual representation of the pattern of convolutions (the gyri and sulci) of the human cortex as this pattern is constructed and used in the practice of mapping the f...

It is the age of fast and good quality Digital images, those are subject to blurring due to many hardware limitations, such as atmospheric disturbance, apparatus noise and poor focus quality. Visual saliency aims to predict the attentional steady intent look of observers viewing a scene, and therefore tone mapping of high dynamic range (HDR) images concept is highly useful for it. The work has ...

The adoption of a visual interface can simplify the query formulation process in DBMSs by enabling naive users to interact with a friendly environment. In this work we propose a visual query language based on a diagrammatic paradigm, used for both data and query representation. The external data model is called vision and is made up of the visual primitives of concept and association. The exter...

Background and Objective: Development of critical thinking and practical skills has remained a serious and considerable challenge throughout the nursing educational system in Iran. Conventional methods of teaching such as lectures as the dominant method used in higher education system is a passive style which ignores critical thinking. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the effect ...

Concept mapsTM have existed in the educational community for some time. A concept map is a visual representation of a person’s (student’s) knowledge of a domain. Many have reported on computer-based implementations of interactive concept map building tools. However, existing concept webs are rooted in a propositional, primarily textual, knowledge representation scheme. Further, existing compute...

This chapter introduces portfolio system design perspectives that incorporate concept mapping and the map-based user interface. It also presents a prototype of a portfolio system that has been developed based on the discussed perspectives, along with its capacities and the lessons learned in the design and pilot-testing processes. The author argues that a concept map-based design can enhance a ...
