The structure of cercidinin A, an ellagitannin isolated from the bark of Cercidiphyllum japonicum, was revised to 1,2,6-tri-O-galloyl-3,4-(R)-hexahydroxydiphenoyl-beta-D-glucose by two-dimensional NMR spectral analysis.
