Original scientific paper In the pipelines of water supply systems, the water hammer phenomenon often arises during rapid unsteady developments. Pipelines are mostly protected using an air vessel, which is designed by means of equations for oscillations of water mass. In this study, an analysis is made of the impact of pressure increases caused by water hammer on pressure variations in pipeline...

With the demand for machine learning increasing, so does the demand for tools which make it easier to use. Automated machine learning (AutoML) tools have been developed to address this need, such as the Tree-Based Pipeline Optimization Tool (TPOT) which uses genetic programming to build optimal pipelines. We introduce Layered TPOT, a modification to TPOT which aims to create pipelines equally g...

With the adoption of RDF across several domains, come growing requirements pertaining to the completeness and quality of RDF datasets. Currently, this problem is most commonly addressed by manually devising means of enriching an input dataset. The few tools that aim at supporting this endeavour usually focus on supporting the manual definition of enrichment pipelines. In this paper, we present ...

I show that the two most devastating objections to Shogenji’s formal account of coherence necessarily involve information sets of cardinality n ≥ 3. Given this, I surmise that the problem with Shogenji’s measure has more to do with his means of generalizing the measure than with the measure itself. I defend this claim by offering an alternative generalization of Shogenji’s measure. This alterna...

The influence of an external oriented magnetic field on entropy generation in natural convection for air and liquid gallium is numerically studied in steady-unsteady states by solving the mass, the momentum and the energy conservation equations. Entropy generation depends on five parameters which are: the Prandtl number, the irreversibility coefficients, the inclination angle of the magnetic fi...

In this work we solve the Dirac equation by constructing the exact bound state solutions for a mixing of generalized vector and scalar Hartmann potentials. This is done provided the vector and scalar potentials hold some relation. Namely, one must be equals to or minus the other. Finally the case of some quasi-exactly solvable potentials are briefly commented.

In this article, we consider the inverse Galois problem for parameterized differential equations over k((t))(x) with k any field of characteristic zero and use the method of patching over fields due to Harbater and Hartmann. As an application, we prove that every connected semisimple k((t))-split linear algebraic group is a parameterized Galois group over k((t))(x). 2010 Mathematics Subject Cla...

Let f : M → N be a homotopy equivalence between closed negatively curved manifolds. The fundamental existence results of Eells and Sampson [5] and uniqueness of Hartmann [15] and Al’ber [1] grant the existence of a unique harmonic map h homotopic to f . Based on the enormous success of the harmonic map technique Lawson and Yau conjectured that the harmonic map h should be a diffeomorphism. This...

In this paper, a wavefront curvature sensor is presented. This sensor is based on the measurements of the differentials of wavefront slopes, where the wavefront slope measurements can be achieved by a Shack-Hartmann sensor. A ShackHartmann sensor with three output collimated beams will be introduced with a lenslet array installed in each beam. By shifting two of the Shack-Hartmann grids in the ...

Unconscious (the, philosophy of): Ger. Philosophie des Unbewussten. The metaphysical system of E. v. Hartmann, by whom the absolute principle is called “the Unconscious.” “According to v. Hartmann (Philos. d. Unbewussten, 3) the unconscious is the absolute principle, active in all things, the force which is operative in the inorganic, organic, and mental alike, yet not revealed in consciousness...
