This paper investigates in detail the determinants of job satisfaction in a developing country. Two main results emerge from our analysis. Firstly, we show that as opposed to the empirical evidence from industrial countries, Chilean self-employed workers are more satisfied with their job than Chilean employees only after controlling for job protection and occupational hazard. Descriptive statis...
Work stressors, conflict asymmetries and dissatisfaction with the status quo are all negative factors which workers today are subjected to. Unfortunately, these situations occur more often than companies would want. However, negative results, despite what might be expected, do not always follow in the performances of affected employees. In this paper, through a theoretical review, it is shown u...
Let G be a group, S a subgroup of G, and F a field of characteristic p. We denote the augmentation ideal of the group algebra FG by ω(G). The Zassenhaus-Jennings-Lazard series of G is defined by Dn(G) = G ∩ (1 + ω(G)). We give a constructive proof of a Theorem of Quillen stating that the graded algebra associated to FG is isomorphic as an algebra to the enveloping algebra of the restricted Lie ...

We give a new conceptual proof of the following classical fact due to Karpilovsky (Contemp. Math., 1982) but over finite fields: Let G be a p-mixed abelian group with divisible p-component. If F is a finite field of char(F ) = p, then FH ∼= FG as F -algebras for another group H forces that H ∼= G. Subject Classification: Primary 20C07, 16S34, 16U60; Secondary 20K10, 20K21, 20K25.
In this article we extend the proof given by Biswas and Gómez [BG] of a Torelli theorem for the moduli space of Higgs bundles with fixed determinant, to the parabolic situation.
Let R be a Dedekind domain, G an affine flat R-group scheme, and B a flat R-algebra on which G acts. Let A → BG be an R-algebra map. Assume that A is Noetherian. We show that if the induced map K ⊗ A → (K ⊗ B)K⊗G is an isomorphism for any algebraically closed field K which is an R-algebra, then S ⊗A→ (S ⊗B)S⊗G is an isomorphism for any R-algebra S.

Let G be a group, F a field of prime characteristic p and V a finite-dimensional FGmodule. Let L(V ) denote the free Lie algebra on V regarded as an FG-submodule of the free associative algebra (or tensor algebra) T (V ). For each positive integer r, let Lr(V ) and T r(V ) be the rth homogeneous components of L(V ) and T (V ), respectively. Here Lr(V ) is called the rth Lie power of V . Our mai...
