Let $R$ be an arbitrary ring and $T$ be a submodule of an $R$-module $M$. A submodule $N$ of $M$ is called $T$-small in $M$ provided for each submodule $X$ of $M$, $Tsubseteq X+N$ implies that $Tsubseteq X$.
