Objective(s):P In vitro chemosensitivity and resistance assays (CSRAs) are a promising tool for personalized treatment of glioblastoma multiform (GBM). These assays require a minimum of 1 to 2 g of tumor specimen for testing, but this amount is not always accessible. We aimed to assess the feasibility and validity of utilizing stereotactic biopsies of GBM in CSRAs. Materials and Methods: Single...

Background & Aim: The most common primary brain tumors of the central nervous system are gliomas. Among a number of different biomolecular events, a strong relation between oxidative stress pathways and the development of this cancer has been proved. Oxidative stress (OS) is the consequence of an imbalance between pro-oxidants and antioxidants towards pro-oxidants. The pro-oxidants cause lipid ...

INTRODUCTION Temozolomide and concomitant radiotherapy followed by temozolomide has been used as a standard therapy for the treatment of newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiform since 2005. A search for prognostic factors was conducted in patients with glioblastoma routinely treated by this strategy in our institution. METHODS This retrospective study included all patients with histologically p...

Over the past decade, theragnostic radiopharmaceuticals have been used in nuclear medicine for both diagnosis and treatment of various tumors. In this review, we carried out a literature search to investigate explain role radiotracers approach glioblastoma multiform (GBM). We primarily focused on basic rather common positron emotion tomography (PET) these Subsequently, introduced evaluated prec...

Perillyl alcohol (POH) is a naturally occurring monoterpene with antiangiogenic and anti-tumoral properties. This chemotherapeutic agent has proven effectiveness in several clinical trials, including an ongoing phase I, comprising patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiform (GBM) under treatment with POH by intranasal administration. Proteomics offers tools to distinguish states of biologica...

Because of high heterogeneity and invasiveness, treatment of GlioBlastoma Multiform (GBM) still remains a complex challenge. Several recent advanced therapies have improved precision of treatment deliverance. Multimodality imaging plays an increasingly important role in this process and images segmentation has become an essential part of the pipeline of standard treatment planning system. With ...

Thallium 201 whole body scintigraphy was performed in a 30 year old patient with diffuse osseous metastatic disease secondary to glioblastoma multiforme. Multiple sites of Thallium uptake correlated with the findings on serial bone scans and radiographs. Bone biopsy of a lower lumbar vertebra confirmed that the metastases were of glial origin.

BACKGROUND Cases with brain tumor and subdural hematoma are rare; surgical management of the elderly patients with a glioblastoma multiform (GBM) and a chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) can be intractable. CASE DESCRIPTION We report a 77-year-old patient, who had a left front lobe GBM and a giant, calcified, left frontoparietaloccipitotemporal CSDH. The patient recovered well from anesthesia a...
