In this paper, a novel polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) image classification method based on multilayer autoencoders and self-paced learning (SPL) is proposed. The multilayer autoencoders network is used to learn the features, which convert raw data into more abstract expressions. Then, softmax regression is applied to produce the predicted probability distributions over all the c...

• We propose a novel resistance loss to alleviate model overfitting framework robustly train CNNs on noisy labels It integrates CNNs’ memorization effect, curriculum learning with resis-tance Noisy composed of correct and corrupted ones are pervasive in practice. They might significantly deteriorate the performance convolutional neural networks (CNNs), because easily overfitted labels. To addre...

Training (source) domain bias affects state-of-the-art object detectors, such as Faster R-CNN, when applied to new (target) domains. To alleviate this problem, researchers proposed various adaptation methods improve detection results in the cross-domain setting, e.g. by translating images with ground-truth labels from source target using Cycle-GAN. On top of combining Cycle-GAN transformations ...

Background: Rapid advancement of information and communication technologies has transformed the methods of education. It has created methods which help students achieve deep and effective learning as well as develop a desirable level of creativity. Implementation of e-learning in education is one of such methods. The purpose of the present research is to study the impact of self-learning (self-...

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced Higher Education to adopt distance-learning approaches in traditionally face-to-face and practical-based fields such as the Health Life sciences. Such an abrupt change contexts brings a variety of challenges student learning communities, ensuring key skills are effectively transferred. Chief among these is limited opportunity students have discuss their individu...

Blended learning is a combination of any form of technology enhanced learning with face-to-face instructor-led training. So called guidebooks describe how self-paced learning activities can be blended with collaborative activities. This paper describes the requirements for such a guidebook based on results from a Delphi study. A draft of a possible structure for such a guidebook is suggested.
