A three-component coupling reaction of ortho-phthalaldehyde, 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide, and various primary amines readily afforded novel phosphorus-substituted stable isoindoles in good to excellent yields. The importance the reversible ring-opening 10-oxide by methanolysis became apparent.
Several difurylperfluorocyclobutenes showing reversible photochromism were synthesized. In comparison to their cyclopentene homologues they show enhanced quantum yields for ring opening but reduced quantum yields for ring closure. X-ray structure analysis and quantum chemical calculations provide a conclusive explanation for such a behaviour.
We construct smooth supergravity solutions describing a BPS black ring with a BPS black hole centered at an arbitrary distance above the ring. We find that as one moves the black hole the entropy of the ring remains constant, but the angular momentum coming from the supergravity fluxes changes. Our solutions also show that in order to merge a BPS black ring with a BPS black hole one has to incr...
In this article, we investigate the formation of reversible cyclic codes (i.e., its codewords forms a symmetry) over ring S=F2+uF2+u2F2, where u3=0. We find unique set generators for S and classify to their generators. The dual are studied as well. Moreover, provide some examples codes.
Brønsted acid promoted reversible dimerization of myrmicarin 215B leads to formation of a new heptacyclic product, isomyrmicarin 430B, that possesses a C1,C2-trans,C2,C3-trans-substituted cyclopentane ring. Mechanistic studies illustrate that isomyrmicarin 430B arises by isomerization of isomyrmicarin 430A via fragmentation to tricyclic azafulvenium ions. Factors influencing the structure of he...
Abstract—We study codes with a single check element derived from group rings, namely, checkable codes. The notion of a codecheckable group ring is introduced. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a group ring to be code-checkable are given in the case where the group is a finite abelian group and the ring is a finite field. This characterization leads to many good examples, among which two c...
A new probe for Cu(2+) based on the Cu(2+)- induced reversible ring-opening mechanism of the rhodamine spirolactam was described. It displayed a highly selective and sensitive "turn-on" fluorescent and colorimetric response toward Cu(2+).
We report on a heterocircuit [2]catenane in which a reversible half-rotation of one ring about the other can be induced, and locked in place, by switching the coordination of the interlocked rings between Pd(II) and Co(III).
Cyanamide was introduced into the rhodamine spirolactam framework to produce a colorless and non-fluorescent compound RBCN. It shows a reversible ring-opening/ring-closure process in response to the solution pH, which exhibits an "ON/OFF" switching in its fluorescence. Different from other rhodamine-type dyes, the ring-open form of RBCN is stable in protic solvents under neutral, near neutral a...
