Dermoid cysts are benign tumors that represent the simplest form of teratoma (1). Approximately 7% of dermoid cysts affect the head and neck region, and within this region, they are commonly found along the orbital walls(2). Orbital dermoid cysts occur most commonly along the lateral aspect of the orbit, in approximately 69% of cases. Intraorbital location is relatively rare for these lesions. ...

RESULTS The patient is a 31-year-old female, who presented with a new onset complex ...
We present a rare case of fistulation of a dermoid cyst with the transverse colon. We illustrate how an infected dermoid cyst can be diagnosed as an appendix abscess although the management of these is quite different. The general surgeon should be aware of this as a differential diagnosis for an appendix abscess.
52 INTRODUCTION Epithelial inclusion or epidermoid cyst (EIC) lined by well defined stratified squamous epithelium enlarges by cellular proliferation and by desquamation of keratinized debris into the cavity of the cyst (1). Histologically, it is differentiated from the dermoid cyst by the absence of dermal structures and from the benign cystic teratoma or true dermoid cyst, which is a neoplasm...
Dermoid cyst of the spermatic cord is an extremely rare pathology seen at the urological clinic. We present the case of a 26-year-old man who presented with a groin lump, thought to be a lipoma or a hydrocoele of the cord. The final histopathological analysis established the diagnosis of a dermoid cyst.
Dermoid cysts of the head and neck are rare lesions. An unusual dermoid cyst in the subcutaneous tissue of the mastoid region is easily confused with lymph node abnormalities; therefore, diagnosis and treatment are often challenging. We describe a 22-year-old male with an unusual dermoid cyst in the subcutaneous tissue of the mastoid region whose only complaint was a retroauricular lump, which ...
All dermoid cysts arising at the cranial vault had been reported as being located subgaleally, i.e. under the galea aponeurotica or epicranium. We are presenting a case that we believe to be the first case of an intragaleal dermoid cyst ever reported. An eighteen years old girl presented at our consultation for a midline frontal swelling evolving since 2 years. Neurological examination was norm...

Most dermoid cysts of the head and neck are benign, but rarely malignant transformation may occur. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of a carcinosarcoma arising in a submental dermoid cyst. CASE PRESENT...
