The development of agglutinins for V. cholerce in cholera patients has been recorded by a number of workers. Greig (1914) examined the blood of 363 cholera patients and found that in a few cases cholera agglutinins had developed as early as the second day of the disease but this was exceptional. The specific agglutinins were well marked on the sixth day of the disease and the titre remained hig...

The observation that ABO agglutinins are present in a wide variety of pollens (Denborough, 1964) and so must commonly be inhaled, and the knowledge that plant agglutinins are antigenic (Mikela, 1957), prompted us to study secretor status in allergic disease of the respiratory tract, namely in asthma and hay fever. The opportunity has been taken to measure the amount of isoagglutinins present in...

Although the unit&an theory of antibodies has gained general acceptance since its formulation by Zinsser and others (l), quantitative evidence for the identity of agglutinins and precipitins has been lacking. Zinsser (2) has attempted to reconcile mathematically the apparent discrepancy between the serum dilutions in which agglutination and precipitation occur and Jones (3) has shown that collo...

In the last number of the Gazette Pasricha, Panja and Lai (1936) recorded the results of an investigation into the frequency and concentration of agglutinins for the enteric group of organisms in sera collected from 280 Indian patients admitted into the Carmichael Hospital for Tropical Diseases. These sera were also used for the estimation of agglutinins for the proteus X strains X19, X2 and XK.
