In B cells infected by the cancer-associated Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), RUNX3 and RUNX1 transcription is manipulated to control cell growth. The EBV-encoded EBNA2 transcription factor (TF) activates RUNX3 transcription leading to RUNX3-mediated repression of the RUNX1 promoter and the relief of RUNX1-directed growth repression. We show that EBNA2 activates RUNX3 through a specific element within...

Bromodomains are conserved protein regions that function as epigenetic readers by recognizing specific histone modifications. The common association of bromodomains with enhancer and super-enhancer regions in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma contributes to its pathogenesis. Bromodomain inhibition reduces tumor growth largely through the disruption of transcriptional networks driven by oncogenic MYC.

the purpose of the present study was to explore the passive and electrically assisted transdermal transport of granisetron hydrochloride (gra) in solution and gel formulation through iontophoresis and also the feasibility of delivering therapeutic amounts of drug for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. in this study, iontophoretic permeation of gra through guinea pig skin...

Transcriptional control of the genes coding for collagen type I is regulated by a complex interaction between a distal enhancer and a proximal promoter. In this study, we have dissected the molecular mechanism of this interaction by defining a specific sequence within the enhancer that respond in fibroblasts to transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta). We show that TGF-beta activates COL1A2 g...

Organismal growth regulation requires the interaction of multiple metabolic, hormonal and neuronal pathways. While the molecular basis for many of these are well characterized, less is known about the developmental origins of growth regulatory structures and the mechanisms governing control of feeding and satiety. For these reasons, new tools and approaches are needed to link the specification ...

Although it is widely appreciated that a typical developmental control gene is regulated by multiple enhancers, coordination of enhancer activities remains poorly understood. We propose a mechanism for such coordination in Drosophila oogenesis, when the expression of the transcription factor Broad (BR) evolves from a uniform to a two-domain pattern that prefigures the formation of two respirato...
