This article describes ALZ-MAS; an Ambient Intelligence based multi-agent system aimed at enhancing the assistance and health care for Alzheimer patients. The system makes use of several context-aware technologies that allow it to automatically obtain information from users and the environment in an evenly distributed way, focusing on the characteristics of ubiquity, awareness, intelligence, mo...

Although mesoporous metals have been synthesized by electrochemical methods, the possible compositions have been limited to noble metals (e.g., palladium, platinum, gold) and their alloys. Herein we describe the first fabrication of continuously mesoporous Cu films using polymeric micelles as soft templates to control the growth of Cu under sophisticated electrochemical conditions. Uniformly si...

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to determine the optimal loading conditions for pure intrusion of the six maxillary anterior teeth with miniscrews according to alveolar bone loss. METHODS A three-dimensional finite element model was created for a segment of the six anterior teeth, and the positions of the miniscrews and hooks were varied after setting the alveolar bone loss to 0, 2, or 4 ...

Abstract An indifference principle says that your credences should be distributed uniformly over each of the possibilities you recognise. A chance deference aligned with chances. My thesis is if we are anti-Humeans about chance, then these two principles incompatible. Anti-Humeans think it possible for actual frequencies to depart from As long as recognise like this, cannot both spread evenly a...

Figure 1 shows a toy example to illustrate the analysis. The observed itens in Figure 1a are distributed evenly among the different species (i.e. high diversity), while Figure 1b shows the opposite case. The diversity is given by the normalized Shannon’s diversity and represents the distribution of orthologous and paralogous genes in a set of species. High diversity represents an homogeneous di...

Most readers of the Journal of the Medical Library Association (JMLA) are well aware of the inappropriateness of evaluating individual journal articles by their journals’ impact factors. This is because, among other reasons, a journal’s citations are not evenly distributed across its articles. Rather, a small proportion (20%) of articles often accounts for most (80%) of a journal’s citations [1...

We define a notion of determining sets for the discrete Laplacian in a domain Ω. A set D is called determining if harmonic functions are uniquely determined by providing their values on D, and if D has the same size as the boundary of Ω. It is shown that there exist determining sets that are fairly evenly distributed in Ω. A number of basic properties of determining sets are derived.

Histological evaluation revealed multiple fragments of richly cellular mesenchymal tissue containing round droplike islands and long narrow anastomosing cords of odontogenic epithelium. The epithelial islands and cords were characterized by peripheral columnar or cuboidal hyperchromatic cells and were frequently only two cell layers thick (Fig. 2). The mesenchymal component contained evenly dis...

This paper proposes an image registration algorithm based on improved SIFT feature. In the feature detection, evenly distributed feature points are detected using non-maximum suppression and reduces detection times by dynamic adjustment of detecting step. While employs feature matching, the threshold of Euclidean distance ratio is adaptively determined according to the properties of images. Las...

A shift from an emphasis on individual action to community responses has been portrayed as one that will enable a more just response to climate change. Policy and actions will be more inclusive, responsibilities for action may be shared, and the risks and benefits of the low carbon transition more evenly distributed, so the argument goes. But are justice principles really becoming embedded with...
