Iterative verbs are that express an activity which occurs many times or repeatedly. characterized by language forms arise as a result of morphological processes. This study describes the types iterative in Sundanese their behavior. verb data were obtained from written sources using listening method for providing and followed note-taking techniques. The analyzed distributional with two-by-two op...
In some languages, epenthetic segments are realized with unmarked features while in others they are copies of nearby segments. To account for this variation, we propose that epenthetic elements can be in a relation of Correspondence with other output segments, analogous to reduplication. This approach is shown to account for both crosslinguistic and language-internal variation in epenthetic qua...
The obligatory contour principle forbids identical consecutive features in the underlying representation. This work undertakes a description of Anaang tonal structure, behaviour compounds and reduplicates language, bearing mind their sensitivity to OCP environments that trigger adherence. An adapted Ibadan wordlist 400 Basic Items (Trial) English version was used via interview for data collecti...
BACKGROUND Checkpoint kinase 1 and 2 (Chk1/Chk2), and the Aurora kinases play a critical role in the activation of the DNA damage response and mitotic spindle checkpoints. We have identified a novel inhibitor of these kinases and utilized this molecule to probe the functional interplay between these two checkpoints. PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Fragment screening, structure guided design, and kinase cr...
In this paper we show that speakers of both tonal and non-tonal dialects of Kammu use a fixed tone pattern high–low for intensifying reduplication of adjectives, and also that speakers of the tonal dialect retain the lexical tones (high or low) while applying this fixed tone pattern.
DNA damaging drugs interfere with transcription and reduplication. Affected cells respond with cell cycle arrest or programmed cell death. DNA damaging drugs are mutagenic, teratogenic, and carcinogenic. Adverse effects are exerted on rapidly proliferating cells (skin—hair loss, gastrointestinal tract—nausea and vomiting, bone marrow—anemia causing fatigue/leukopenia causing infections/thromboc...
Woleaian shares the progressive and denotative affixes seen in other Trukic and Ponapeic languages of Western Micronesia (Harrison 1973, Sohn 1975). The progressive is invariably a prefix, and like in other Trukic languages (such as Chuukese, Puluwat, and Ulithian) it is bimoraic, with the second mora realized by geminating the initial consonant of the stem (fati → faf-fati ‘being angular’, fil...
