A novel method to fabricate nanoporous gold (NPG) by chemical dealloying of electrodeposited AueSn
We report on the synthesis and characterization of single-crystal caged gold nanorods (CGNRs) which exhibited broadband plasmonic resonances. Redshift of plasmon resonance can be realized by increasing the length, whereas blueshift can be achieved by increasing either the overall width of the cage or the thickness of nanocage walls.
The electrochemical dealloying of rapidly solidified Al-based alloys in a 1 M NaCl aqueous solution has been investigated using electrochemical measurements in combination with microstructural analysis. The results show that nanoporous metals (Au, Ag, Pd and Cu) with various morphologies can be fabricated through electrochemical dealloying of the Al-based alloys in the NaCl solution. The electr...

Gold salts have been used for many years in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. The common side effects are mucocutaneous reactions, but hepatotoxic reaction and isolated neutropenia are rare complications. We report a 62-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis who had developed hepatitis and neutropenia simultaneously after receiving 137.5 mg of sodium aurothiomalate.
A method is presented for synthesizing core-shell structures consisting of monodisperse polystyrene latex nanospheres as cores and gold nanoparticles as shells. Use of polystyrene spheres as the core in these structures is advantageous because they are readily available commercially in a wide range of sizes, and with dyes or other molecules doped into them. Gold nanoparticles, ranging in size f...
Z. Naturforsch. 56 b, 1257-1263 (2001); received September 11, 2001 Gold(I) Complexes, Tri(tertiary phosphine) Complexes, Thiolate Complexes Treatment of the ligand l,3,5-tris[(diphenylphosphanyl)methyl]trimethylbenzene (P3) with (tetrahydrothiophene)gold(I) chloride results in the symmetrical trigold complex [(P3)(AuC1)3]. In the presence of sodium methoxide, [(P3)(AuC1)3] reacts with thiocres...

Specific PCR products are detected with an antibody-free lateral-flow device by sandwiching them between reporter oligonucleotides covalently attached to gold nanoparticles (GNPs) and capture oligonucleotides covalently attached to a nitrocellulose chromatographic strip.
