DNA oligomers can stabilize few-atom Ag clusters in aqueous solution. Some of the resulting AgDNAs are fluorescent with chemical stabilities, excitation and emission wavelengths, and quantum yields that depend strongly on the DNA sequence. 6 This sequence dependence has been exploited for detecting disease-related DNA mutations and for identifying promising biolabels. Rational design of AgDNA f...

The relaxation of electronically excited atomic manganese isolated in solid rare gas matrices is observed from recorded emission spectra, to be strongly site specific. z 6P state excitation of Mn atoms isolated in the red absorption site in Ar and Kr produces narrow a 4D and a 6D state emissions while blue-site excitation produces z 6P state fluorescence and broadened a 4D and a 6D emissions. M...

We present NICMOS imaging of broad band and molecular hydrogen emission in Seyfert galaxies. In 6/10 Seyferts we detect resolved or extended emission in the 1-0 S(1)λ2.121μm or 1-0 S(3)λ1.9570μm molecular hydrogen lines. We did not detect emission in the most distant galaxy or in the 2 Seyfert 1 galaxies in our sample because of the luminosity of the nuclear point sources. In NGC 5643, NGC 2110...

objective: the aims of this study were to determine energy efficiency and co2 use pattern of grape production in zanjan province, iran by a non-parametric method of data envelopment analysis (dea). methods: initial data were collected using a face to face questionnaire from 42 orchards in abhar city of zanjan province which is one of the most important centers of grape production in iran. the d...

Over the past 25 years, single-molecule spectroscopy has developed into a widely used tool in multiple disciplines of science. The diversity of routinely recorded emission spectra does underpin the strength of the single-molecule approach in resolving the heterogeneity and dynamics, otherwise hidden in the ensemble. In early cryogenic studies single molecules were identified by their distinct e...

This paper discusses possible methods for on-chip fluorescent imaging for integrated bio-sensors. The integration of optical and electro-optical accessories, according to suggested methods, can improve the performance of fluorescence imaging. It can boost the signal to background ratio by a few orders of magnitudes in comparison to conventional discrete setups. The methods that are present in t...

We report on the results of a low-temperature optical spectroscopy study of Pr3+-exchanged sodium 8-alumina single crystals (Na+/Pr3+ 8A120 ), containing different amounts of luminescent ions, in which excitation and fiuorescence spectra have been carried out in o and n polarization. The 3P9 + 3H4 emission spectra, obtained under broad band excitation, show an intriguing structure consisting of...
