"Film-through large perovskite grains formation via a combination of sequential thermal and solvent treatment" (2016). Organic–inorganic halide perovskites have recently attracted strong research interest for fabrication of high-performance, low-cost photovoltaic devices. Recently, we reported a highly reproducible procedure to fabricate high-performance organic–inor-ganic halide perovskite sol...

Ab initio molecular dynamics simulations were performed to investigate the elasticity of cubic CaSiO3 perovskite at high pressure and temperature. All three independent elastic constants for cubic CaSiO3 perovskite, C11, C12, and C44, were calculated from the computation of stress generated by small strains. The elastic constants were used to estimate the moduli and seismic wave velocities at t...

Solution-processed planar perovskite devices are highly desirable in a wide variety of optoelectronic applications; however, they are prone to hysteresis and current instabilities. Here we report the first perovskite-PCBM hybrid solid with significantly reduced hysteresis and recombination loss achieved in a single step. This new material displays an efficient electrically coupled microstructur...

Organolead halide perovskite materials possess a combination of remarkable optoelectronic properties, such as steep optical absorption edge and high absorption coefficients, long charge carrier diffusion lengths and lifetimes. Taken together with the ability for low temperature preparation, also from solution, perovskite-based devices, especially photovoltaic (PV) cells have been studied intens...

In this work, efficient mixed organic cation and mixed halide (MA0.7FA0.3Pb(I0.9Br0.1)₃) perovskite solar cells are demonstrated by optimizing annealing conditions. AFM, XRD and PL measurements show that there is a better perovskite film quality for the annealing condition at 100 °C for 30 min. The corresponding device exhibits an optimized PCE of 16.76% with VOC of 1.02 V, JSC of 21.55 mA/cm² ...

Perovskite solar cells have recently exhibited a significant leap in efficiency due to their broad absorption, high optical absorption coefficient, very low exciton binding energy, long carrier diffusion lengths, efficient charge collection, and very high open-circuit potential, similar to that of III-IV semiconductors. Unlike silicon solar cells, perovskite solar cells can be developed from a ...

The instability of hybrid perovskite materials due to water and moisture arises as one major challenge to be addressed before any practical application of the demonstrated high efficiency perovskite solar cells. Here we report a facile strategy that can simultaneously enhance the stability and efficiency of p-i-n planar heterojunction-structure perovskite devices. Crosslinkable silane molecules...

A series of end-to-end azido-bridged perovskite-type compounds [(CH3)nNH4-n][Mn(N3)3] (n = 1-4) were synthesized and characterized. Structural phase transitions indicating the general lattice flexibility were observed and confirmed by the crystal structures of different phases. These materials show cation-dependent magnetic ordering at up to 92 K and magnetic bistability near room temperature.

The title compound, {(C(8)H(20)N(2))[PbCl(4)]}(n), crystallizes as an layered inorganic-organic hybrid perovskite-type structure. Corner-sharing PbCl(6) octa-hedra extend parallel to the ac plane. Adjacent layers are staggered relative to one another, with diammonium cations separating these layers. The cations exhibit symmetry and inter-act with the inorganic sheets via N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding...

The discovery of spin crossovers in iron under pressure in ferropericlase and iron-bearing magnesium silicate perovskite, the major mineral phases of the Earth’s lower mantle, ignited in the last eight years intense discussions on the nature of this phenomenon and potential effects on the state and evolution of the Earth’s mantle and of the planet as a whole. The nature of spin crossover in fer...
