Corynebacterium nuruki S6-4(T), isolated from Korean alcohol fermentation starter, is a strictly aerobic, nonmotile, Gram-positive, and rod-shaped bacterium belonging to the genus Corynebacterium and the actinomycete group. We report here the draft genome sequence of C. nuruki strain S6-4(T) (3,106,595 bp, with a G+C content of 69.5%).

Streptomyces griseorubens JSD-1, isolated from compost-treated soil, is able to utilize lignocellulose and nitrate as its sole carbon and nitrogen source for growth. Here, we announce the draft genome map of this actinomycete. The genes participating in lignocellulose and nitrate metabolism were picked out and identified.

Background: Nocardia asteroides complex is aerobic actinomycete, partially acid-fast and Gram –positive which rarely cause ocular infections especially in immunodeficient persons. Case Presentation: An 83-year-old man with diabetes presented with nasolacrimal duct obstruction to Labbafinejad Hospital Tehran –Iran. According to the clinical examination and microbial assessment cause ...

BACKGROUND Human cutaneous infection caused by a homogeneous group of keratinophilic fungi called dermatophytes. These fungi are the most common infectious agents in humans that are free of any population and geographic area. Microsporum canis is a cause of dermatophytosis (Tinea) in recent years in Iran and atypical strain has been isolated in Iran. Its cases occur sporadically due to M. canis...

Three new 2-pyranone derivatives, namely Norcardiatones A (1), B (2) and C (3), were isolated from the agar cultures of the strain Nocardiopsis sp. A00203, a mangrove endophytic actinomycete. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic and mass-spectrometric analyses, including 1D-, 2D-NMR and HR Q-TOFMS. Compound 1 showed week cytotoxicity against HeLa cells in MTT assay.

The actinomycete Nocardiopsis alba was reportedly associated with honeybees in separate occurrences. We report the complete genome of Nocardiopsis alba ATCC BAA-2165 isolated from honeybee guts. It will provide insights into the metabolism and genetic regulatory networks of this genus of bacteria that enable them to live in a range of environments.

Ivermectin (MK-0933, 22, 23-dihydroderivative of amvermectin B1) is a synthetic derivative of a broadspectrum antiparasitic class of macro cyclic lactones known as avermectins. Avermectin B was first isolated by fermentation of a soil microorganism, the actinomycete Streptomyces avermitilis. Ivermectin has a structure similar to that of macrolide antibiotics, but without antibacterial activity ...

Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicusis is a Gram-positive actinomycete that is the causative agent of the potato disease ring rot. Here, we announce the complete genome sequence of the Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicusis siphophage CN1A. CN1A is only the second fully sequenced Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicusis phage reported to date. Core and unique features of i...

A new thiolactone-containing antibiotic U-68,204 was found to be produced by a soil actinomycete identified as Streptomyces thiolactonus UC 8478 (NRRL 15,439). The production, isolation, structure determination as well as the physical, spectroscopic and antibacterial properties of this C13H17NO3S compound are here reported. On the basis of these data, the antibiotic was identified as the 10-car...
