We present numerical results in SU(2) lattice gauge theory for the space-space and time-time components of the gluon propagator at equal time in the minimal Coulomb gauge. It is found that the equal-time would-be physical 3-dimensionally transverse gluon propagator Dtr(~k) vanishes at ~k = 0 when extrapolated to infinite lattice volume, whereas the instantaneous color-Coulomb potential D44(~k) ...

We investigate a non-homogeneous layered structure encompassing dual spatial dispersion: continuous diffraction in one transverse dimension and discrete diffraction in the orthogonal one. Such dual diffraction can be balanced out by one and the same nonlinear response, giving rise to light self-confinement into astigmatic spatial solitons: self-focusing can compensate for the spreading of a bel...

Let Γ̄ be the Picard modular group of an imaginary quadratic number field k and let D be the associated symmetric space. Let Γ ⊂ Γ̄ be a congruence subgroup. We describe a method to compute the integral cohomology of the locally symmetric space Γ\D. The method is implemented for the cases k = Q(i) and k = Q( √ −3), and the cohomology is computed for various Γ.

A characteristic signature of quark confinement is the concentration chromoelectric field between a static quark-antiquark pair in flux tube. However, structure this tube, and hence confining force, has not been completely understood. Here we perform new lattice measurements distributions on smeared Monte Carlo ensembles SU(3) gauge theory. On basis these simulations demonstrate that force can ...

Abstract A converse KAM method for 3D vector fields, establishing regions through which passes no invariant 2-tori transverse to a given direction field, is tested on some helical perturbations of an axisymmetric magnetic field in toroidal geometry. It finds corresponding islands and chaos the fieldline flow. The minimization these proposed as tool help design plasma confinement devices tokamak...

The high-energy Regge behavior of gauge theories is studied via the formalism of Analytic Multi-Regge Theory. Perturbative results for spontaneously-broken theories are first organised into reggeon diagrams. Unbroken gauge theories are studied via a reggeon diagram infra-red analysis of symmetry restoration. Massless fermions play a crucial role and the case of QCD involves the Super-Critical P...

Throughout this brief note all groups are assumed to be abelian p-primary, written additively as is customary when regarding the group structure. Since we shall deal exclusively only with p-torsion abelian groups, for some arbitrary but a fixed prime p, there should be no confusion in future removing the phrase ”is an abelian p-group”. Concerning the terminology, under the term a separable grou...

A new approach to nonperturbative QCD, holographic light-front provides a comprehensive model for hadron dynamics and spectroscopy, incorporating color confinement, universal mass scale, the prediction of massless pion in chiral limit, connections between spectroscopy mesons, baryons tetraquarks across full spectrum. In this article we present predictions Sivers asymmetry related transverse mom...

We study the transversemode selection of aweakly index-guided vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL), based on an extension of the model of Valle et al. [Opt. Commun. 115 (1995) 297]. In the model we incorporate carrier capture and escape processes between the separate confinement heterostructure (SCH) layer and the quantum well (QW) active region of a VCSEL. These effects are character...

Aggressively scaled More Moore devices such as FDSOI FETs, FinFETs, and nanowire transistors are designed around the concept of spatial confinement, which challenges basic notions of electron transport, originally derived under the assumption of a bulk crystal. Confined electrons do not have a well-defined three-dimensional momentum and a continuous energy spectrum. Physical models with confine...
