Aromatic substitution reactions between 1,3-diaminobenzene and chloronitrobenzofurazan derivatives have never been reported so far. The aim of the current study was to synthesize novel electron-donor and -acceptor architectures of interest in applied fields and to provide new insights on the nucleophilic behavior of 1,3-diaminobenzenes. The reaction of 1,3-dipiperidinyl-, 1,3-dimorpholinyl-, 1,...
Fateme Derakhshan-Panah was born in Hamedan (Iran) in 1987. She received her B.S. in Pure Chemistry (2009) and M.S. in Organic Chemistry (2011) from Bu-Ali Sina University, Iran. She is currently working towards her Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor M. A. Zolfigol. Her research interest is organic methodology especially the application of solid acids and ionic liquids in organic synthesis.
One hundred and twenty-one strains of ballistoconidiogenous yeasts were isolated from plant materials collected in Cuc Phuong National Park of Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam. Eighty-five strains selected for the morphology of their ballistoconidia and colony appearances were assigned to four genera: Bullera (39 strains), Kockovaella (5 strains), Sporobolomyces (39 strains) and Tilletiopsis (2 stra...
Utilising the population based data resources of the Rochester Epidemiology Project, we estimated survival and risk of subsequent colon cancer in the 182 residents of Rochester, Minnesota, initally diagnosed with chronic ulcerative colitis (CUC) between 1935 and 1979. Twenty five (13.7%) had a proctocolectomy during the course of follow up. Three patients developed colorectal adenocarcinoma aft...
A characteristic feature of flowering plants is the fusion of carpels, which results in the formation of an enclosed gynoecium. In Arabidopsis thaliana, the gynoecium is formed by the fusion of two carpels along their margins, which also act as a meristematic site for the formation of internal structures such as ovules, the septum and transmitting tract. How gene interactions coordinate the fus...
Axillary meristems (AMs) are secondary shoot meristems whose outgrowth determines plant architecture. In rice, AMs form tillers, and tillering mutants reveal an interplay between transcription factors and the phytohormones auxin and strigolactone as some factors that underpin this developmental process. Previous studies showed that knockdown of the transcription factor gene RFL reduced tillerin...
