چکیده مقاله:
Chronic urticaria is a prolonged disease with unknown etiology and management.in order to determine the association of helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) infection with chronic urticaria,a case-control study was carried out in this regard 95 chronic urticaria patients without any underlying etiology and 190 healthy individuals who were matched for age and sex were evaluated by-anti-H.pylori IgG detection.in patients groupe 68(41.6%) were female,27(28.4%)male,and in control group 136 were female and 54 male.the mean age of paatients group was 32.4+_15.7 years and in control group it was 31.9+_14.8 years(p>0.05).the average duration for chronic urticaria was 22.7 months.Among other findings in patients group were asthma (13.7%).allergic rhinitis (16.8%),angioedema(43.2%) and gastrointestinal (GI)complaints (32.1%).anti-H.pylori antibody was detected in 71(74.7%) of patients and in 96(50.5%) of healthy persons with a significant difference (p<0.001).there was a significant difference for H.pylori infection in 20-50 years age class in patients group (p<0.01),but the relation between duration of urticaria, angioedema, and Gl complaints with H.pylori infection wa nonsignificant (p>0.05).according to these results H.pylori infection is more frequent in chronic idiopathic urticaria patients than in healthy subjects.however to clarify its etiopathogenesis it is essential to implement more basic research and therapeutic trials.
