چکیده مقاله:
Background: Changing the climatic pattern can lead to major changes in the geographical distribution of infectious diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of climate change on the favorable bio-climatological zone for leishmaniasis sand-fly living which is a vector of Leishmania in Iran. Materials and Methods: Data of the climatic factors affecting the biology of sandflies during 1986-2016 were obtained. The climate thresholds for the sand-fly living were prepared on the basis of laboratory studies. Using Boolean algebra in GIS, the favorable bio-climatological sites of sand-fly in Iran were prepared in the basic period of climate (2016-1986). The climatic conditions of 2050 were simulated using the output of the general circulation model HADGEM2-AO under four scenarios RCP2.6, RCP4.5, RCP6, RCP8.5 and the bio-climatological zones of the sand flies were re-created using the Boolean algebra function in GIS, based on simulated climatic factors. Results: The results showed that in the climatic conditions of the base period, about 0.64 of the Iran's area includes the central and southern and southwestern parts of Iran, has the climatic conditions of sandflies. While in the simulated climate of 2050 under RCP2.6, RCP4.5, RCP6, and RCP8.5 scenarios, it will be favorable for living of this vector about 0.63, 0.68, 0.61 and 0.67 of Iran’s area, respectively. Conclusion: Spatial variations of bio-climatological zones of Phlebotomus sandflies in RCP6 scenario had the highest reduction compared to the current climate and the highest increase was observed in RCP4.5.

متن کاملDelayed-type hypersensitivity to Phlebotomus papatasi sand fly bite: An adaptive response induced by the fly?
The saliva of bloodsucking arthropods contains a large array of pharmacologically active compounds that assist hematophagy. Arthropod saliva is also responsible for causing uncomfortable allergic responses in its vertebrate hosts. In this article, we investigate whether the sand fly Phlebotomus papatasi, known to produce a strong delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) in humans, could benefit from...

Introduction Climate change is the greatest price society is paying for decades of environmental neglect. The impact of global warming is most visible in the rising threat of climate-related natural disasters. Globally, meteorological disasters more than doubled, from an average of forty-five events a year to almost 120 events a year (Vinod, 2017). Climate change refers to changes in the distr...

insects and ticks. Perhaps for this reason a variety of salivary anti-hemostatic compounds are found in this diverse group of arthropods. Many different salivary anti-clotting and antiplatelet agents and vasodilators have been described. Salivary vasodilators range from inorganic nitric oxide to prostaglandins, various different peptides and enzymes that destroy norepinephrine. Several anti-clo...

401 Climate change is a serious threat to Earth’s ecosystems. Increased greenhouse gases and the associated rise in temperature have been implicated in melting glaciers, rising sea levels, acidification of marine and freshwater systems, increased ultraviolet-B radiation and increased fire frequency. The past century has seen a nearly 1 °C rise in global average temperature1, with up to 7 °C of ...
متن کاملPopulation dynamics of Agriophyllum squarrosum, a pioneer annual plant endemic to mobile sand dunes, in response to global climate change
Climate change plays an important role in the transition of ecosystems. Stratigraphic investigations have suggested that the Asian interior experienced frequent transitions between grassland and desert ecosystems as a consequence of global climate change. Using maternally and bi-parentally inherited markers, we investigated the population dynamics of Agriophyllum squarrosum (Chenopodiaceae), an...
