Simulation of Fabrication toward High Quality Thin Films for Robotic Applications by Ionized Cluster Beam Deposition
نویسنده
چکیده مقاله:
The most commonly used method for the production of thin films is based on deposition of atoms or molecules onto a solid surface. One of the suitable method is to produce high quality metallic, semiconductor and organic thin film is Ionized cluster beam deposition (ICBD), which are used in electronic, robotic, optical, optoelectronic devices. Many important factors such as cluster size, cluster energy, impact angle and substrate temperature have important effects on the quality of final thin film such as cluster implanted atoms, substrate sputtering atoms and surface roughness. In this paper, molecular dynamics (MD) simulation of nano-Si cluster impact on Si(100) substrate surface has been carried out for energies of 1-5 eV/atom. The 3-body Stillinger-Weber potential (SW) was used in this simulation. Si cluster sizes of 30, 70, and 160 atoms were deposited on a Si (100) substrate whose temperatures were set around 300 K. Our results illustrate that the maximum substrate temperature, heat transferred time, the cluster implantation and sputtering atoms from the surface increase with increasing the cluster size and energy of the clusters. We found that small nano-clusters with high kinetic energy can produce flatter surface.

متن کاملFabrication of YBa2Cu3Oy Thin Films on Textured Buffer Layers grown by Plasma Beam Assisted Deposition∗
A new technique named plasma beam assisted deposition (PBAD) is proposed to grow in-plane textured yttria-stabilised zirconia (YSZ) thin films on polycrystalline metallic substrates as a buffer layer for deposition of YBa2Cu3Oy (YBCO) films. The in-plane texturing of the YBCO films obtained is decisively governed by that of the YSZ buffer layer on which the YBCO grows. Because of a reduction of...
متن کاملAtomic layer deposition for fabrication of HfO2/Al2O3 thin films with high laser-induced damage thresholds
Previous research on the laser damage resistance of thin films deposited by atomic layer deposition (ALD) is rare. In this work, the ALD process for thin film generation was investigated using different process parameters such as various precursor types and pulse duration. The laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) was measured as a key property for thin films used as laser system components. Re...
متن کاملIon Beam Assisted Deposition of Thin Epitaxial GaN Films
The assistance of thin film deposition with low-energy ion bombardment influences their final properties significantly. Especially, the application of so-called hyperthermal ions (energy <100 eV) is capable to modify the characteristics of the growing film without generating a large number of irradiation induced defects. The nitrogen ion beam assisted molecular beam epitaxy (ion energy <25 eV) ...
متن کاملCharacteristics of high quality ZnO thin films deposited by pulsed laser deposition
Thin films of ZnO have been deposited on glass and silicon substrates by the pulsed laser deposition technique employing a KrF laser ~l5248 nm!. The influence of the deposition parameters, such as substrate temperature, oxygen pressure, and laser fluence on the properties of the grown films, has been studied. All the films grown over a rather wide range of deposition conditions were found to be...
متن کاملMolecular dynamics simulation of thin film nucleation through molecular cluster beam deposition: Effect of incident angle
Deposition of organic cluster beams on solid substrates leads to the creation of thin films through rapid chemical reactions, which makes the process suitable for study by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. In this work, angular effects of molecular organic beam deposition are studied extensively through classical MD simulations. The reactive empirical bond potential parameterized by Brenner ...
