P-218: Investigation of Association between Angiotensin II Type 1 and 2 Receptor (AT1R & AT2R) Gene Polymorphisms and Susceptibility to Pre-Eclampsia (PE) in Iranian Women

چکیده مقاله:
Background: Hypertension during pregnancy period along with the presence of protein in the urine, after the 20th weeks of gestation is called preeclampsia (PE). About five percent of all pregnancies are manifested with PE and its exact etiology has still remained unknown. The renin-angiotensin system (RAS) has an important role in the regulation of blood pressure during pregnancy and so pathophysiology of PE. In this system, angiotensin II via two distinct receptors, angiotensin II type-1 (AT1R) and angiotensin II type-2 (AT2R) regulates blood pressure. Two single nucleotide gene polymorphisms (SNPs), including AT1R (+1166 A/C) and AT2R (+1675 G/A), which are associated with receptor function have been detected. Materials and Methods: This Case-control study was performed on 97 (25 severe and 72 mild) women with pre-eclampsia and 100 healthy normal Iranian women. Cases and controls were selected age & ethnic matched from the same geographic region (Fars province, south west of Iran). After DNA extraction, PCR-RFLP method was used for genotyping of AT1R at position +1166 A/C and AT2R at position +1675 G/A. Chi-square test was used for analysis the results. Results: Statistical analysis did not showed any significant differences between cases and controls regarding the distribution of genotype and allele frequencies at position +1166 A/C in AT1R or position +1675 G/A in AT2R gene ( p=0/64, p=0/4 respectively). Moreover no significant correlation between both polymorphisms and the severity of the disease was also observed. Conclusion: The results of the present study indicated that the genetic polymorphisms in AT1R and AT2R genes are not associated with susceptibility or severity of pre-eclampsia in south west Iranian women.

Neuroprotective effects of angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R) blocker, telmisartan, via modulating AT1R and AT2R signaling in retinal inflammation.
PURPOSE To investigate the retinal neural damage that occurs during inflammation and the therapeutic effects of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R) blocker, telmisartan, using a model of endotoxin-induced uveitis (EIU). METHODS The localization of AT1R and AT2R was shown by immunohistochemistry. EIU was induced by intraperitoneal injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Animals were treat...

P-90: Maternal Susceptibility to Pre-Eclampsia in South Indian Women: FOXP3 Gene
Background: Pre-eclampsia is a multifactorial pregnancy specific vascular disorder characterized by hypertension and proteinuria. It affects around 3-5% pregnancies worldwide. The aetiology and pathophysiology of PE remain poorly understood. But it is generally accepted defective placentation during the early stage of pregnancy most likely in combination with maternal and environmental factors ...

BACKGROUND This meta-analysis enabled us to obtain a precise estimation of the association between gene polymorphisms on chromosome 1 (MTHFR, AGT, F5, IL-10, LEPR) and the susceptibility to pre-eclampsia (PE) in order to reach a uniform conclusion. متن کاملInvestigating the Association of IL-17A and IL-17F with Susceptibility to Pre-eclampsia in Iranian Women
Background: Pre-eclampsia (PE) is one of the most important and life-threatening pregnancy disorders that affect at least 3-5% of all pregnancies. Imbalance in helper T cell functions may play a role in predisposing to PE or severity of the disease. Elevated frequencies of Th17 cells in the peripheral blood of PE patients have been reported. Several single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) within ...
متن کاملInvestigation into the association between NLRP3 gene polymorphisms and susceptibility to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
We conducted a case-control study to investigate the role of three common polymorphisms (rs10754558, rs7512998, and rs12137901) of the gene NLR family, pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) in the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Between May 2013 and May 2014, 385 patients with T2DM and 401 control subjects were enrolled in our study. Genotyping of the three NLRP3 polymorphisms of in...
